This hotel remains a favorite. Beautiful room, clean, brilliant service, a reasonable price. This time I tried the restaurant too good food, nice wines, excellent service, expensive, but it added to the fun, as did a splendid drink at the bar! Really sorry I only come to Lausanne every second year to enjoy it

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. Our room was large with a very comfortable bed and great shower. The hotel pays attention to the little details. However, it was also very expensive. Not that you are staying in a hotel to watch TV, but sometimes it's nice to relax with a movie at the end of the day. Movies cost 15 francs, which I thought too much. Location was great for walking by the lake.

The room we stayed in was amazing ... it was in the tower and had views facing all 4 directions. Gorgeous hardwood floors, drapes around the bed, huge closet area. Big bathroom with a full bath and two sinks, unusual for Europe. I could go on and on about how awesome our room was.

The service and general vibe wasn't great though. They refused to check us in early (not even a mintue) after our international flight so sitting on the benches outside was absolute hell. The service was odd at the bar in which you had to signal the waiter over and actually ask to order. I believe they think that interrupting is rude but we got the feeling of being ignored. Plus we are young people so unfortunately sometimes that has something to do with treatment.

Super expensive but perffffffffect for our honeymoon. The town of Lausanne was picturesque but also had a hard time communicating or getting any attention for service pretty much anywhere. The language of choice was French which we know none. I had traveled to various places in Europe (greece, italy, etc) and never had such a gosh-darned hard time communicating. Definitely an experience to be had though. :)

Room Tip: Get a room with a view ... in the tower if you can!

Last year I spent 4 weeks in a row at the Chateau d'Ouchy due to a course I took at the business school nearby. The service is excellent and the personnel very friendly. Cuisine is on the upper level quality-wise, but so are the prices, especially the wine card gave me some question marks with regards to the local wines and what they cost per glass (as a Swiss I think I can benchmark the prices accurately)...
Rooms are very nice and extremely clean. The location is perfect, you are right in the middle of Lausanne's most prestigious area. A lovely place for a getaway with your beloved one!

We spent 4 days for Christmas 2013 in Chateau de Ouchy and loved it. Great service, clean rooms and it was spectacular view of Lake Geneva & Alps from our room on the 3d floor. The interior was elegant with Christmas decoration. We enjoyed our walk along the lake. Everything is close by and you can walk to the train station. We took a day trip to Montreux that only 20 min on the train from Lausanne. If we ever come back we will stay in this lovely hotel again!

Room Tip: Room 206 has the most beautiful view of the Lake & Alps

A beautiful suite with the best view in town of Lake Geneva; a couple of minutes walk from the Metro station and Lausanne harbour; a massive garden and play area with rides around the hotel... That's the Chateau d'Ouchy for us. We stayed at the main tower, which used to be the real chateau with a dungeon (and the elevator could only transport up to 6 people at a time!), and the suites aren't cheap, but the view of Lake Geneva and the city was really worth it. Room service was also quick and efficient, and the amenities great. The only room for improvement would be the breakfast, which was not much of a buffet spread expected at such hotels. My next stay at Lausanne would definitely be here again.

Room Tip: The suite at the top of the main tower gives you a great vantage point to enjoy the lake whenever yo...

I booked the Chevalier Suite in this hotel and stayed from 14-15 September with my partner. I booked the suite on their website which was quite easy to navigate. We arrived with our car and proceeded to the parking lot. Private parking was free. The hotel looks great and the interior was very chic and classy. the hotel was also located by the lake and across the metro which was nice. check in staff were informative, they explained everything from hotel amenities to the complimentary breakfast. they spoke english and french. they gave us stubs for our welcome drink, a complimentary transportation card(we didnt get to use it really as we either walked or took the metro which is surprisingly open, no gates or people to check if you have a ticket) and an access card to another hotel that they are affiliated with where we can use the pool and stuff. then we were directed to the room, which was on the 1st floor, near to the spa. the room was awesome. it was huge and had a spacious toilet and bath. it had a fully stocked mini bar and had complimentary bowl of candies and l'occitane bath products. the gargoyles on the ceiling are a nice addition to the room but can be creepy at night. lol on the right of the bed is a huge stained glass window which looked great. the bed and pillows were comfortable and it was extremely quiet so we had a relaxing good sleep.the room was clean and spotless, except for the small hole on the curtain at the window overlooking the streets, everything else was perfect. we then went down to smoke and redeemed our welcome drinks. the bar tender asked one of the waiters to carry the drinks for us to bring it back to our room. my partner had a lil chat with the waiter, who was very nice and cheerful. i forgot what his name was but my partner really liked his attitude and service that he gave him a tip. later in the afternoon we went downstairs to the restaurant and ordered some burgers which were delicious. there werent really a lot of choices, i guessed it was because it was 4:30 in the afternoon and usually europe restaurants are either closed or serve only drinks at that time.breakfast the following morning was okay, not much choices as well, just your usual sausage, bacon, egg, cheese, cereals, and bread. check out was quick and hassle free. all in all, one of the best hotels ive been too. This hotel definitely beats staying at any high end international chain brands.
