Have to say, our two-night stay at the Hotel du Marche in July was almost laughable, it was so bad. We emailed them; they emailed back that we needed to send our cc number to secure. We did. Then they never responded. We had to email and call three additional times to make sure we were good. (Should I mention that that cc number was stolen that day and started making it's way across Europe?) We get there. The front desk attendant was lovely. They send us up to our room, which is completely in disarray, with two plumbers tearing up the shower and sink. Oops. They forgot. Just leave your stuff. We'll be done later (I guess we won't stay and relax.) The first morning, our neighbor's alarm starting going off at 5:30. Luckily, they kept pressing snooze for about an hour, so every 7 minutes for an hour we got to hear their alarm through the very thin walls. The next morning, a different neighbor got home around 6:30 (a.m.) and decided to finish out the party with a rock concert. The front desk was no help.
Perhaps this was just the trifecta of bad luck, but sometimes luck is made. I'd spring for a few extra dollars and stay away. We travel about a month every year, and saying this was my worst hotel stay ever is saying something.
