Nice location. 15 minutes metro ride to the city center. The hotel seems to run around the restaurant. I didn't actually get to eat there, but it was always full of people, so rather popular. The bedroom was OK, good space, two twin beds put side by side, so they tend to separate, a bit on the old side, good space in the bathroom too, and also a bit old. Nice amenities, good free wifi connection speed. The breakfast buffet is rather basic, and on weekends they open one hour later but close at the same time, leaving less time for breakfast. And a nice gesture from all the city hotels: free public transport card.
I had never had any trouble with what I have come to identify as a characteristic feature of three star hotels in Europe: the front desk closes, and sometimes, like in this hotel, when it is open there is nobody there. So I had to wait for about ten minutes to check in, and for some reason the wifi connection stopped working in the morning, as I left early and came back late, I was disconnected for 24 hours, which in my case is a big deal.
Lausanne is an expensive city, and the price of the rooms follows. But if you want to be by the lake this is a good option.
