This is our favorite restaurant in Lausanne area. We go there at least once every two weeks. And if we have guests, we will go there on sunday for a nice and lovely brunch. Good food from the region, good beers and if you are lucky a sunny terrasse... You have to try it, and you wont't make any mistake in the menu!

Located outside of the city in a building looking like an old farm. Nice walking trails around. Food was really good and the staff was really friendly (Swiss classic menu made with I believe mostly local products). A little unorganized and took a while to get everything on the table but as long as you are prepared for this it was worth the wait. Very friendly to our children and the opportunity to just let them go outside and play was great. Merengue with double crème (SP?) is a must for dessert.

If you want to get out of the city (but not too far) and enjoy a laid-back simple meal, this is a good place to go. All the ingredients are locally-sourced so the menu is very seasonal and unadventurous, but good staples (chicken breast with mustard, steak, fondue, excellent salads). Very cosy place, chalet-style interior, but nicely maintained and tastefully decorated. Very friendly service. Try the hydromel (spiced white wine as one reads about in medieval texts).

I went to the Chalet des Enfants a couple of time and was never deceived. The food is amazing, especially the beer fondue and the meringues à la double crème. Will definitely recommend to go there.

The restaurant is fine, and they have a little play table for kids, but when we came in the winter we got glares for coming in with 2 kids. We were the only people who came with kids. The play table is near a door so it's in the way of passing waiters. The waiter sneered at me when I asked for fries for my kid saying "Ce n'est pas McDonalds" which is nonsense, as fries are served in most Swiss restaurants and this place advertises itself as for kids.

The food is ok. I don't remember what I ordered, and don't remember being amazed by it for good or ill.

It might be nicer in the summer where you can sit outside, and there is a playground.
