When I spent GBP130 a day booking this hotel I thought I was going for a little luxury. Yes, I know real luxury comes at an even higher price tag, but I was not expecting what is, sadly, a decadent hotel that might once be one of the best in town. The room was spacious, without character, but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom recently renovated. Our room was facing the street, which can be very noisy at night, so who knows how much they charge for a lake view. The food for breakfast was fantastic, but again the ambiance was not so good. All in all we did have a decent stay, but for the price we pay and the expectation we had, we're not going back.

Room Tip: The street can be very noisy at night. Parking is either very expensive in the shopping centre nearb...

We have booked our room online via booking.com and while checking in this room was not available. The Front Desk Agent left us waiting for around 1.5 hours and seemed to be very stressed. Once checked in in the Dependance in a different room, air condition didn't work and bath rooms were old for a 4star hotel. Although we were repeat Guests and complained, Management didn't seem to be interessted. This is a bad example for Swiss Hospitality and next time we will choice another Hotel!

We might have had an old and ugly room just beacuse we bought the reservation on internet hotelsbooking.com - we did have a rather good rate for Switzerland's average (160.-) however ....we will certainly not return there and not recommend it either!
Furniture was old, no harmony in the room, it smelled of humidity and the only nice thing was the LITTLE bathroom and comfortable materrasses.
Ground floor, window on the street, noisy and sad. Horrible view.
Hotl should have informed us that the offer was....not worth the price! we could have found much better in Montreux that night.

Room Tip: Try to call the hotel before getting there and ask them mainly NOT TO GIVE YOU a room on ground floo...

Decadent slightly fading classical elegance in a wondrous town. Breakfasts are fabulous. Quiet. Excellent view of lakefront. Wrought iron chairs a little uncomfortable. Spacious rooms. Frayed carpeting. Great value.

Room Tip: all rooms are great.

We had a lake view on the 1st floor in a small but charming twin room. The bathrooms were nice although lacked a hook to hang the lovely bathrobe we used to walk down to swim in the lake. Beautiful sunny weather. Food was good, wifi available and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: The rooms vary in size hugely. Ones facing the lake have a glorious view while friends had a huge r...

The Eden Palace au Lac Hotel, is very good alternative, If you do not have a lot of budget to stay at Le Montreux Palace or the Grand Hotel Suisse Majestic, you have the Montreux Casino next door, and it's located in the Lake Promenade, I stayed there for one night in July and it was overall a good experience, The room was big, and the beds were super soft and nice, yet the Bathroom had some issues with the sink and the toilet, the view of Lake Geneva and the alps is magnificent, but I think the hotel needs a little refurbishing because the furniture in the lobby and hallways are very old and dusty

Stayed here in March 2012 on a business trip. The location is first-class, especially if you get the room with balcony looking over Lake Geneve. The amenities in the room are basic, food is good. A lot of restuarants & pubs around. Train station is about 3-4 minutes walking and there is a train to geneve aeroport or geneve city every 30 minutes or so. The room price is a bit steep considering its suisse. However, I visited during the annual car show (and all the hotels in Geneve were sold out) so that could be a contributing factor towards the higher room price. I think the room fare was 250 USD per night on an average (I stayed for 5 nights). Overall, a conveniently located hotel, excellent & polite staff, clean rooms (there's a radio in the room, air conditioning, an lcd with satellite connection with some sports channels) very close to the casino. Note: Montreux is about 1 hr and 30 mins from Geneve (city) by train.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 5th floor, with a view of the lake. Can get terribly hot in the day (was bearable in Ma...
