Good cosy atmosphere. excellent service and very good food and wines.
We had 4 dishes in all. A shared truffle pasta which was very good.
A steak and frites, cooked to perfection. A coq au vin - faultless.
And for dessert a lemon tart which was very good (btw. best lemon tart I've had is from Victoire in Rozelle, Sydney).
We left happy.
Would go back for another special occasion.

Lumiere is delightful. It's small, intimate and tastefully decorated and the service is efficient and professional. Best of all is the speciality of entrecôte and frites which is as good as any I've eaten in Paris. A cosy atmosphere makes this charming restaurant just about perfect for a winters lunch.

Went here with a group from work. Very friendly greeting and the staff were accomodating of our organiser mis-counting the number of attendees, adding an extra table even though this was a bit of a squeeze. The dining room is small and it was full/overflowing so it was a bit noisy, however when it emptied a bit it became much better.

I had a starter of smoked salmon and horseradish sauce, the sauce being the best I have ever tasted. For main course I had the broiled rib-eye steak, which came in a broth with plenty of fresh vegetables. We had the 06 Ch. Charmail from the wine list, a relative bargain in terms of Zurich prices. Would definitely come back.

At the top of a rise in the Old Town of Zurich is Restaurant Lumière. Casual, professionally run, with top menu and wine choices at not extraordinarily high prices (for Zürich). French motif, and very cozy. Great entrecôte dishes as well as seasonal specialties. One of the best lemon tarts we've enjoyed anywhere. Get there! (Since it is small, reservations are essential.)
