This is about the Swiss Star Apartment in Kloten, 2 min from Zurich airport. Room relatively big and furnished Ikea style (cheap but colorful), clean, good sleep ok. Would be 2-3 star hotel if it were not for a stove, a sink and some cutlery, which now makes it an "apartment". Well, then there is no reception (to get the room key you got to enter a code in some pigeonhole mailbox), they don't make your rooms (good luck if you run out of toilet paper), no breakfast room, etc. - that is why it is relatively cheaper than others: you get less. The parking lot is spectacular: on the ground it says in big capital yellow letters "HOTEL", but on the wall there are all these white and red signs "Private, no Hotel". Just confusing. Silly even. Are you going to act confident or ignorant and park your rental car anyway and the next day risk of missing your flight because you have to chase it has been towed away (remember this is Zurich)? Let us just say, compared to other places where pay 30-50 CHF more, suddenly this one does not look that cost effective any more. But I did sleep well, so 3 stars they get from me.
