Owner description: This prominent 13th-century Gothic cathedral is perhaps best known for one of its more recent additions, stained-glass windows designed by Marc Chagall in the 1970s.

Located in Old Town, the Church of Our Lady, displays beautiful stain glass windows by Marc Chagall. We were in awe by these tall, dramatic windows depicting biblical scenes and stories. Each of us in our party pointed to and brought attention to different parts....A very pleasant way to rest from our long day.

Like the Grossmünster on the other side of the river Limmat, the Fraumünster is another austere Protestant Cathedral, lacking the beauty and ornate details found on Catholic Cathedrals. My one reason for visiting this church was to see Marc Chagall's beautiful stained glass windows, which depicted various Christian scenes. These alone made the visit worth it. They were some of the most impressive stained glass windows I've ever seen in a Cathedral. The setting for this church in the Old Town and it's clock tower were also nice.

I am from Rome. Protestant churches are really not my style. Too much austerity for my eyes, used to Baroque statues and churches we have in my home town. Besides that, this church is worth a visit because of the beautiful windows made by Chagall.

A stop here to see the famous Chagall windows will be worth your trip! Just sit and relax, taking in the colors and scenes of the windows.

Among the many quaint clock tower faces that distinguish Zurich from other cities, the Fraumunster, along with St. Pieterskirche, is truly the city's defining feature. The epitome of simplistic elegance, the large gold-laced clock face and the unique blue-green copper spire truly stand out from their surroundings in the city skyline.
