Owner description: This 12th-century cathedral has both historical and architectural significance: Ulrich Zwingli led an important sect of the Reformation from here in the early 1500s, and the cathedral's twin towers serve as perhaps the most recognizable landmarks in modern Zürich.

You cannot miss Grossmunster with its two towers. Climbing up the stairs left us breathless, but so is the view, the magnificent view of Zurich! And the Church, it speaks for itself. Definitely a must see while in Zurich!

a nice protestant church with beautiful stain glasses (the big one by famous Augusto Giacometti, small ones are only several years old, done by a polish artist - Polke). Go down to the Krypta - there is the original old parts of the church, frescos from the 15th century, the original statue of Charles the Great (the copy is on one of the Towers). You can also go up to one of the towers (178 stairs - be prepared).

What makes this church worth visiting in a country full of beautiful churches and cathedrals? The stained glass alone. There are windows that feature slices of agate, which are totally unique to my experience with stained glass. There are other very unique windows too... the most unusual I have ever seen. But when I walked into the room with the rainbow colored tall stained glass windows by Marc Chagall I was so surprised. If you have the fortitude I also recommend climbing one of the towers to see the views from above. Worth every step!

A great Romanesque style church in Zurich, part of three that are very popular to visit. There is a small fee to enter; check out the twin towers, considered the most recognized landmark in Zurich. Take time to look at the stain glass windows, doors, and statues on the front and sides of the church.

The Church in the heart of Zürich is well worth a visit! The latest acquisistion, namely the windows of sliced agate and stained glass by Sigmar Polke, are magnificent! These turned out to be his last major project before his death. The Giacometti windows are also rather famous and beautiful. The climb to the tower also offers perfect views of the medieval town of Zürich and of the river Limmat and the lake.
