“Much more art than you can expect from their site”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 June 2014

Kunsthaus Zurich has a very rich collection of old art (medieval gothic, Rainassance with El Greco, Tintoretto, Canaletto, Rubens etc., impressionists with a few Van Gogh paintings, many works by Monet, Degas, Rodin and oth., 2 sculptures by Brancusi), good collection of modern art, has a free audioguide included in the ticket price, there is a separate audioguide for younger visitors, I found the guide offered very good explanations, all in all the collection is way more reacher then you will expect if you look at the info they provide on the internet. One can spend 2-3 hours or even more there, if you love art. The museum is a little bit outside the tourist ways - you have to walk uphill behind the Grossmunster, then downhill, look for the signs. You can get there by public transport too, tram stop is just in front of it.

“Fabulous museum and definitely worth visiting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 June 2014

The Kuntshaus has brililant art. There's Mvnch, Kandinsky, Matisse, Picasso, and contemporary artists, Robert Frank, Richard Serra, John Baldessari, Bruce Nauman, Bill Viola-- all worth seeing. The building is great and it's a museum you can explore in an afternoon unlike some of the behemoths of Europe that require more of a two-day stay. Also, the coffee's superb.

“Swiss and International modern and ancient art”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 June 2014

The fix collection is a mixture of Swiss ancient and modern art, but you can also find Picasso, Kandinsky or Miro as well s some French expressionists, The Alberto Giacometti collection with the famous scupltures, is certainly the most impressing. If you are lucky you can also find an interesting exhibition.

“Great museum, on Wednesdays it's free and closes at 8pm”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2014 via mobile

I really like this museum and try to come back on every visit to Zurich. Try to time your business trip to a Wednesday - it's open after work hours and free.

Nice restaurants and bar north west to the museum.

“One of the best art museums”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

I visited Zurich Kunsthaus on a Sunday afternoon and I was blown away by the incredible collections in hosts. Normally, I am not a fan of renaissance and medieval art, but the ancient art collections here were extremely enjoyable. In my opinion, though, the best part of the museum is the modern and the contemporary collections. Francis Bacon's tryptic is astoundingly beautiful, as well the Italian futurist paintings, the Braques, the Giacomettis, and so on. Overall the structure and the design of the museum are perfect. I can't recommend this museum enough, it truly is a world-class art institution. if you are in Zurich you must not miss it!
