My husband and I decided to try this place after discovering it along the path while visiting the Zurich Zoo. To get there from the zoo you simply walk out through the gate that leads to the restaurant and after you eat they will give you a token that you use to reopen the gate from the outside to get back in the zoo.
The restaurant is a quaint little place with high quality food and very friendly staff. There were only a few minor issues. After coming up the path from the zoo to the building, we walked around for several minutes trying to figure out where the entrance to the restaurant was. We ended up going in a door that we thought was the main entrance and we were right. There was no host at the front, so we were not sure how to get seated. We walked into the dining room and a waitress seated us after asking if we were there to eat.
The menus were only available in German, but our friendly and cheerful waitress was happy to help us translate. I had a delicious plate of fish and chips. The bread was delicious as well and the service was very attentive.
My only suggestions to improve would be for them to see if they can more clearly mark the entrance to the restaurant and provide direction on where to go to get seated once inside. Also, please consider having an English version of your menu for those who do not speak German. It would be very helpful for your foreign visitors.
I plan to visit Zurich again next year and I will absolutely be eating at this place again! I
