My wife and I stayed at this hotel 2 weeks ago and enjoyed our stay very much. We found the hotel staff to be excellent; they were always helpful and accomodating. Don't expect to check in earlier than 12:00 noon. We arrived at 09:00 AM and no rooms were available but the staff took our bags, offered to let us freshen up and armed with tourist info and maps to the city. We walked around until 11:30 AM and the room was ready for us. I found the room to be clean and more than adequate for our needs. The rooms were always made on time and the cleaning staff never intruded on us too early in the morning. Breakfasts were pretty good; items served were hot/cold cereals, bacon/eggs, meat cuts, variety of breads, juices and fruits, etc., If you can't find something you like then you're too picky. We had dinner only once at the hotel restaurant and it was pretty good. My dinner course was venison and saurkraut, salad, etc.,. A coffee maker in the room was a plus; it was the only hotel to offer one among our stays in Zurich, Interlaken, Salzburg and Vienna during this vacation. Again, the staff was excellent in all categories.
If you're the city-walking type, expect about a 20 minute walk to the town center. If you need to take the bus, you can catch the # 13 at the bus stop, which is about a 5-minute walk from the hotel.
This part I'm about to write is more of a suggestion for your stay in Zurich in general and does not reflect at all upon the hotel. My advice is not to book too many vacation days in Zurich unless you're agenda is to do some major agressive, high-ended shopping. Seeing the landmarks of central Zurich can easily be done within 2 days. We stayed in Zurich 4 days and by day # 3 we were already taking the trains to Geneva and Bern. We are avid walkers and found that we covered the majority of city central within the first day. Day #2 was spent revisiting (or at least walking past) much of the things aggresively pursued doing day # 1.
For the price, you get a pretty good hotel here. The interior is better than exterior. I would definitely stay there again. I'm the type than can be happy with most Best Western chains and use them often to save vacation money to other vacation-related activities. This one is above their normal par.
