I have been thee many times. I find it is too crowded and the swimming facilities are limited. There is always a life guard or more there in the summer season.

It is a very popular place for individuals and families. It is not bad but if you don't like crowds packed together, then avoid it.

What is popular is not always great. I would go there if I had no other choice but I would cerrainly not go out of my way to go there.

One of the few free bathing places in Zürich, it's on the river and on the weekend it might be very crowded, there is also a baby bathing place (not in the river) and a restaurant. Every two years there is a free music openair concert for two days, which is always great fun.

Located about a 15 minute train ride from the Zurich HB (Tram #17) exit Tuffenwies. A five minute walk after exiting the train, cut through the parking lot and make a left once you reach the river. At the dam, cross over and you have made it to the beginning of Bad Au. Nice sun bathing areas on both sides of the path. On warm summer days, you will find a lot of people jumping off the bridge into the water and then floating down stream with the current for a little over 100 meters or so.

Continuing down the path on the left there is a children’s pool and building that serves beverages and food and restrooms. Continuing back down the path about 600 meters you will see a building that has restroom facilities. From here the trail goes left or right over the dam. If you actually go straight and through the small wooded path, this is where you will find the ‘nuddist’ area between the two rivers. Everyone respects your privacy.

The whole area is very relaxing and welcoming of all ages, so take your towel, sun screen, some snacks and take a dip in the river. I did not see the grills during any of my visits.

Otherwise, it’s a very nice place where mostly ‘locals’ seem to hang out. Very much recommended.

You can swimm down the canal, about 1oo meters and walk up and swimm down again and again. Along the river limmat you can go for jogging up or downriver.
There is a little restaurant wich serves good food.
At one corner you can do your own barbecue.
In June they have a music open air.

Good to go swimming in a river, a small rest, quiet. Also place for families, but you got to have an eye on the kids.
