This is the second time that we stay at hotel Roessli. We again had a lovely relaxing time. Great location. The girls at reception were charming. The breakfast is delicious and the hotel is within walking distance of all the sights.

Room Tip: Very easy to get to from Zurich's main rail station. Hop on tram number 4 direction: Tiefenbrunn...

Hotel Rossli is one the best hotels near Zurich main train station. We went for 3 nights in June with our 10 month old baby and everything was just perfect. The staff in the restaurant and at the reception could not have been any more respectful and helpful. The hotel was spotless. Our room had everything and even the toiletries were provided. Everyday you get complimentary water bottles in the room. There was a safe in the room, iron was also provided and when we got there it was really hot so the staff provided us two fans. The breakfast was pretty good too. On first day at the breakfast there was another family with the baby so the staff arranged another high chair from a neighbouring hotel. The lift also had the weather forecast for next three days which was useful.

However, the reason I won't give 5* as overall rating is because when we got there the wifi worked for about half a day and then the remaining stay was without wifi. There was a problem with the modem we were told and on the morning of checkout the wifi was working again. We were also given a room in the second building which is directly opposite the main building and the lift was extremely small. The hotel provided the earplugs but it wasn't noisy at all. Little bit tricky to find but if you stick to the main road next to the river you'll be fine (when you come out of the station, cross the river and turn right and stay on the main road and it'll be on your left after 5-7mins of walk). And finally, there is no air con in the hotel. It was sunny and between 28-33 degrees when we were there and even with two fans and windows open the room was roasting.

Overall, the location is perfect, the hotel itself is really clean and if you want to stay in a hotel near the main train station (Zurich HB) then you won't at all go wrong with this hotel. The box has been ticked but if we ever come back to Zurich then we will definitely be staying at Hotel Rossli again.

Thank you very much for your nice comment. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us.
I am so sorry to hear that the Wi-Fi was not working properly - we are working on that. And for the sake of the environment we have refrained from using air condition in the hotel.

We are currently renovating the whole hotel. Everything will be new, modern and very nice. It would be a pleasure to welcome you back soon because we would like to hear also your opinion on the new style.

A good cosy and intimate hotel with good location in heart of the old town. Hotel Is quite small but it Is rather benefit than disappointment. Rooms were well sized but old(fashioned)and bathrooms were 4star level. Breakfast Was international level and everyrhing Was fresh. Staff Was very friendly and helpful. Everyrhing Is located in walkingdistance but in Some cases you take a tram almost everywhere from 2 blocks away crossingstation. Like all hotels in switzerland Rössli Is also quite expensive but try to catch an offer from internet, worth of money if thinking pricelevel there in general...

Room Tip: Very good breakfast was included in our rate, take it!

The room I stayed in at the Rossli was cute with plenty of space for a single traveller. It had wooden floors, two windows which could open, modern paintings and Kiehl toiletries. The lighting is good for reading, there's a small armchair and a fridge (mini bar). I'd asked for a quiet room and mine was on the 5th floor. The bar was directly below and I stayed on a Friday and Saturday night but was not bothered by noise. Breakfast was good and included scrambled eggs and bacon, unusual for a European hotel. The Rossli is close to the Limmat lake and to ancient restaurants and boutique-style shops. It can be reached easily by tram from the airport (10 to the station, then 4) or from the train station (4).

My wife and I stayed here for three nights in April. The hotel is on a pedestrian only street so we had to lug our belongings about half a block on a cobbled street to get to the hotel. Because we had reserved a large room we were placed across the street from the hotel, in their annex. The room was large but the furnishings were sparse and worn. Though the hotel and annex entries are on a small street our room actually faced a much larger street. With the window open at night the room was quit noisy until late and again early in the morning, with delivery trucks and street sweepeers.
The saving grace was that all employees were extremely kind and helpful, and the rate was reasonable. Also, the hotel is well located, close to almost everything on both sides of the old town.

Dear 11jimtravel

Thank you for your comment. The satisfaction of our customers is very important for this reason we are grateful for any feedback.
We are in the lucky position that the hotel is located in the old town of Zurich which is the most central place of Zurich, but it is also true the old town of Zurich is a pedestrian area. It would have been allowed to drive up the alley to the hotel (as close as possible) to assist you with the luggage.
We know that some of the rooms need a new look therefore we are renovating right now. By mid-September all our rooms and also the reception will be brand new with modern furniture and state-of-the-art equipment.
We hope you will return to Zurich to see our new “old” hotel.

This is the third time in some years

that we have been fortunate to stay at the Roesli hotel . So I can say that the experience we have had this time is as expected and hoped for This is a small compact almost bijou hotel, very centrally situated for the rain stations , trams and buses and the old town of Zurich. The rooms do vary as they would, this time no 601 on the top floor of the main building, with as has been said an easily accessible roof terrace. Impeccably clean and well equipped , comfortable beds, fine white linen . The Breakfasts were as good as you could desire, full range and satisfying quality , the minimum staff , as helpful as any one would hope for All together a worth while experience, if you need to be in the centre of the Town for an event such as the Sechseleuton Cheap no, but thoroughly recommended.

Hotel Rössli is on a cute little side street within walking distance of all of the old town sights. The staff were very nice and helpful (and even let us check in a bit early after a very long flight) and the room was impeccably clean. The beds were comfortable, and there was pretty decent closet space. The bathroom had a GREAT bathtub, and the bath products were Kiehls, which was definitely a bonus! The complimentary breakfast was great too.

If you leave the windows open at night, there's a bit of noise from the restaurant/bar downstairs if people are sitting outside, but it's not too bad.
