The best (value) restaurants are all in this part of Zurich, the only part which, compared to other European cities feels like it has anything approaching a pulse.

Tinto is split into two parts, a bar area and a restaurant section.

We went as a group of four in the evening and opted for the bar area, it was busy with a a lively 'after work' atmosphere.

The waiter was very informative and funny as he went about serving us a selection of great wines and tapas.

It's certainly a change from the more well known tapas bars of Zurich and I will be returning at a later date. Thanks to Spotted by Locals for introducing me to it

Thank geminder

It is my pleasure to say that this is the best spanish restaurant in Zürich city by far. A withstanding representative of the most traditional tapas. I could not find any defect. Exceptional iberic products such as the pluma ibérica or the carrillera were melting in my mouth. The codfish was pleasantly fresh and exquisite. I wish to go again and enjoy the foamy crema catalana, the most appropriate closing ceremony after my little trip through the spanish flavours. I strongly recommend the restaurant for the nostalgic spaniards who miss truly iberian food.

We went very much looking forward on drinking a good red wine. But after having steped in for a second an unfrendly waiter came to us asking us almost what we wanted and saying that there were no possiblity to drink something as the Tapas bar was full. No smile, no welcome, no we are sorry about that... They schould make an effort on this first impression, even if it's very understandable that the place is full, just by being nice would have made us come back and even bring more people from friends to affaires lunches... it's really a pitty.

We'd heard there was a new tapas bar in the city and decided to check out Tinto. The restaurant didn't disappoint. The tapas menu was reasonably large, and the items we selected were very good: the "Pan con Tomate" was light, flavorful and not soggy; the Albondigas were firm and tender; the mountain of Patatas Bravas were cpisp and served with mayo and a very nice sauce (ask them to bring you extra sauce!), and the Bellota hams we selected were amazing. We sat on the restaurant side so ordered mains of roasted chicken, and pulpo that was steamed and served with crisped potato and ham. All of it was delicious. Good selection of wines by the glass backed up by a very strong wine card with many reasonably-priced bottles. Service was very good.

The tapas and restaurant areas are separete. They were fine with our ordering tapas as a starter but insisted that if we were going to sit in the restaurant section we'd need to order food from the dinner card. And consider making a reservation; the restaurant is small and we wouldn't have gotten a table without one.
