The Townhall is located on the right-side of the Limmat. This house hosts the cantonal parliament and the Zurich city Parliament. Open sessions of the Parliament are held on Monday and Wednesday.
On the entrance level, there is a bust of Rudolf Brun, the first mayor of Zurich. A very nice gentleman allowed me access to view one of the large rooms which houses a large meeting table, paintings on the walls and ceilings and a ceramic stove. On the next level up, I was able to view the paintings and intricate designs on the ceiling in the foyer area.
There are no fees to view the limited area of the building. The exterior is very nice as it is anchored onto the Limmat with views of the flowing river and the left bank.
This hall can be viewed when touring other attractions in the area and it is accessible for the physically challenged.
