Ok, we did not expect much when we dropped in around Langstrasse Area, but were completely surprised. The restaurant just recently opened and it is all about burgers, burgers and burgers. The burgers are self-made from bread, to meat to even ketchup. The portions come in good size and the restaurant service is fast. We had the best burgers ever! Go for it burger lovers!!

OMG! As stated by the other reviewers, this is by far the best burger this American girl has ever eaten in Europe, let alone in Switzerland. The meat is exceptional and cooked to perfection. The bun never falls apart like so many sub-standard buns you get these days - from first to last bite, it's just soft enough and just firm enough to do that excellent pattie of meat justice. I had the classic which doesn't have any of the bells and whistles on it and I am already looking forward to eating one of those babies again in the very near future.

Downsides: While the atmosphere in the main dining room was artsy and cool with really neat rustic furniture, it was almost too dark for me to read the menu as easily as I would have liked to. Also, they give you 3 different sauces to enjoy with your fries, but I would really have liked a small bowl or cup to put them in, making dipping easier. Instead, you have to puddle it on the cutting board that serves as your plate. Sure hope they change that.

Reservations for dinner are a must.

We had dinner at The Bite in late summer 2013, shortly after it opened. Even though it took ages to get the food, we thought it was the best burger in town.

So we went back recently with a larger group. By now it had become increasingly difficult to reserve a table - looks like the place is a big success. When we got there, the table was definitely too small for our group and missing chairs. When we got additional chairs, it was pretty packed. It was fine while we were just having drinks and since it still takes a long time to get your food (ca 1 hour), we were able to add another table by the time our food arrived.

The burgers still are the best in Zurich. Prices are high compared to other cities but I guess for Zurich it is what is to be expected (24-30 CHF for a burger with fries).

The biggest threat for the restaurant is becoming a victim of its own success if the service cannot keep up with the great food. But I hope the longer they are around, the more routine they get.

The Bite was packed on a Tuesday evening at 20:00. So make sure you have a reservation if you plan to go for (most probably) the best burger in town. The interior is very nice, kind of romantic with candles (good to go with your girlfriend) but still easy going enough to go there with your buddies. It’s difficult to choose from the menu as all the burgers read very tasty. If you cannot decide, go for the threesome (3 different small burgers). If you are hungry (as I was) go for the Hattrick – the master burger with 3 patties! Additionally we wanted to try out the nachos and wings and ordered them for starter which they forgot to serve! That was not too bad for us because the Hattrick Burger was HUGE! Also, the other burgers we ordered were of very decent size!

So, let’s start the feast: taste a few of the side dish fries – not too fresh but okay. Animal fries which are the fries covered with cheese and thousand island sauce – very nice but almost too much for us. We try the three sauces that came along with the order: Homemade Ketchup: not of great (any?) taste, BBQ sauce: tasty spicy taste. Thousand Island sauce: nice surprise! 8 out of 10 points! Overall not the very big deal yet. Move over to the burger: The (first) bite – wow! Super meat, buns, bacon, juice – all together just a real burger dream! Forgotten starters, okay fries, no real (Heinz) ketchup, above like average sauces all did not impact the rating anymore on the negative side because the burger was just gorgeous!

The price of food and drinks at this place for me is more than fair. I will definitely go back! 5 Stars!

Tasty burgers, friendly stuff, located next to the nightlife district around Langstrasse. Highly recommended! Reserve early, cause the bite is already very popular!
