Have eaten here before and have never been disappointed the food is Excellent, a very extensive menu for both food and wine.
Try the Swiss wines especially the reds are delicious
This visit I had the best steak I have eaten in a long time so perfectly cooked.
Rene the owner goes though the menu with you and ensures you enjoy your meal.
Would recommend this restaurant anytime.

My wife and I were walking around old town in Zurich, when we happened to come across Lindenhofkeller. (Note the restaurant is located adjacent the tallest hill in Zurich on the west side of the river which affords spectacular views of the city, so I would suggest to combine sight-seeing with grabbing a meal at Lindenhofkeller). I recognized the restaurant name as one of the top TripAdvisor rated in Zurich, so we hopped in for lunch. Probably because it was a weekday, we found a table immediately, and the place was not crowded.

We both ordered the house specialty dish of veal (lady's portion) with spinach and potatoes au gratin as a side dish. We also ordered 2 glasses of the Cabernet Sauvignon which was decent and reasonably priced (at 9 CHF per glass.

The veal was accompanied with assorted al dente cooked vegetables such as carrots and bell peppers. Dessert was a creme brûlée, topped with a scoop of ice cream. The combination of creme brûlée and ice cream, made the dessert mediocre. That is the pairing of the 2, just did not work for me.

The service was impeccable, the food cooked to perfection, and the ambiance comfortable.

When in Zurich, I would recommend stopping by Lindenhofkeller, and grabbing a bite to eat in this beautiful dining establishment. You will not be disappointed.

Ever-reliable delivery from Rene's kitchen is overseen at your table by the man himself..which is not only unusual...it's communication at the best level! He is supported by his partner & her team front-of-house who are as helpful as they are prompt. I took BJ foodie chums to this charming old-world Swiss dining room in Winter (make sure you are seated in the atmospheric 'big' room) for their first time, & whilst some of the adventurous new starters (high marks for trying Chef,...) were unevenly achieved, what they lacked in flavourful-excellence was more than made up for by that for which Lindenhofkeller is justly famous..their grills! Veal here is something else & rarely as well-handled--Rene coaxes this fine meat in a slow oven & the result is mouth-wateringly tender & elegantly presented--delicious! Other grill choices will not disappoint either...& together with wine from an extensive & balanced list, you will have a noteworthy Zurich experience dining here. I never have room for desserts,,but they seem well received I note..& next time I shall skip starters & take advantage of a rarity these days...a good-looking cheese trolley. No doubt the ready advice available regarding one's wine choice would surely be matched when considering which cheeses to try...Bravo, again!
Footnote: Summertime they only serve food in an inexplicably dreary nearby courtyard where not only are you obliged to suffer the indiscriminate result of the personal addiction of smokers--you must sit on second-rate "outdoor' furniture too boot. Autumn & Winter are when best times to go here.Check before confirming..I specifically asked for the BIG ROOM last year in Summer...& was shocked to be bundled out into what passes for fun in Zurich -- dining outdoors when its hot!

A really impressive restaurant with an amazing wine list and fabulous food. The speciality of the house is well worth the trouble of ordering ahead. The waiter was very good making recommendations and showing real attention to detail. The room is traditional but comfortable. Very hard to fault.
