“Constantly good”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

I come to this restaurant often, perhaps once a week. Never have I been disappointed. The cuisine is fresh from the market. it's not fancy, but excellent in the classic (but light) way. The menu changes constantly, the lunch menu, which gives you 8 to 10 options, changes on a weekly basis. There is also outside seating for those summer lunches or dinners. The service is always impeccable. And the wine-list is innovative with local choices as well as an excellent European cross-section.

“Outstanding”
Reviewed 22 July 2014 via mobile

Small, quiet restaurant near the heart of Zurich, but away from the tourists. We had a wonderful meal here. The service is impeccable, the wine list extensive, and the food is delicious. We had the veal and the guinea hen, and both were melt in your mouth tender. Do make reservations, the place fills quickly, mostly with locals. This was our favorite meal in Zurich.

A very nice, small restaurant where you can enjoy a conversation while eating outstanding, imaginative food. Simple and outstanding food, great and very attentive service.
Booking essential as the restaurant is very small.

“Really Good Restaurant”
Reviewed 28 June 2014

My wife and I dined at Didi's on a warm evening in June. It was third or fourth time we've been to Didi's. We sat in the garden, it was fun watching the other diners arrive and dine.

The evening started with an amuse-bouche from the kitchen. Cold asparagus soup accompanied by raw bacon and a green sauce that I simply couldn't identify. Outstanding.

My wife started with a green salad, fresh ingredients perfectly dressed. I had cold cucumber soup with some very rare salmon. The soup had a robust cucumber flavor and was very refreshing on a warm evening. Wonderful.

My entree was roast pork with carrots, peas and potatoes. The pork was perfectly cooked and the dish was full of flavor. My wife had sea bass with prawns and a coconut curry sauce. She enjoyed it very much. Delightful.

We had a scoop of lemon sorbet and a scoop of berry sorbet as dessert. Both were tart, fruity and delicious. A great end to the evening.

Service was great, professional, efficient and friendly. Our need for gluten free dining was handled without fuss. Didi has a great wine list, we choose to enjoy a Swiss merlot that was perfect for our meal.

Didi's Frieden is a really, really good restaurant. It never fails to deliver very good food, super service and great ambiance.

“Hidden gem”
Reviewed 27 June 2014 via mobile

The only thing that this amazing restaurant suffers from is a location which is not great, ie no views and a little walk away from the trendy areas in Zurich. The rest is fab: small menu with many inviting dishes, impeccable ingredients cooked to perfection, really nice wine list and - rare in Switzerland - very friendly service. A must try.
