“Disappointing”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

Although two of our group enjoyed their meals my husband was upset that his gammon came in thin slices and the chips were just "fries". He expected thick chips twice cooked at a place such as this. My risotto was not cooked to a thick creamy consistency (the ones I make at home are so much better than this), was very over salted, the peas were hard and the 6 tiny asparagus tips were so overcooked that they had lost all taste of succulent asparagus. My meal in particular was extremely over priced for what it contained and I had difficulty getting it down.
All in all a very disappointing dinner to which we had been looking forward to eating.

“A superb meal”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

The food was excellent and enjoyed by our whole party who had all ordered different things. The atmosphere was buzzy and lively and. Service was good if under-experienced in parts. The wine list was full of good choices and we would thoroughly recommend it and would certainly go again.

“The Poxy Fox Inn”
Reviewed 8 June 2014 via mobile

Popped into this place by chance. Looks welcoming from the outside but don't be mislead....upon entering we encountered the most surly bar man ever. I've had warmer welcomes at an igloo. We only wanted a quick drink (possibly a meal if we liked the feel of the place)

So drink supped we made a hasty retreat. The place is soul less, tables crammed in and offers very poor value for money. The place was deserted on a sunny Saturday, late afternoon...says it all really. Wish we had known!

“One of the best meals on our 9-day Cotswold walking tour”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

We stopped in for a late lunch on our walking trip in the Cotswold. We walked with muddy boots and a good appetite. The staff was friendly and the meal was excellent. My husband's order of their steak and ale pie was just about perfect and the vegetables were done just right (not overcooked). I really enjoyed the piping hot asparagus soup and my entree.
We were also charmed by the care of Buster, the resident dog, and Molly, the cat. One of the staff member helped keep the peace between the two by letting one in from the outside after the other had been kept out for awhile.
