We visited on a sunny Sunday in August & the gardens were a blaze of colour. We spent about 4 hours here as that was all the time we had but you could easily spend much longer. Even if you're not wild about flowers, there are some wonderful trees here and there are quiet spots away from the crowds. I was hoping to have a scone & a pot of tea but the scones looked pretty flat & uninteresting & the tea isn't in pots but paper cups. So I passed on that. It's a shame that the cafe is so dreary (in terms of what's on offer) and pricey, but cafe aside if you come here, you won't be disappointed.
