We visited on a sunny Sunday in August & the gardens were a blaze of colour. We spent about 4 hours here as that was all the time we had but you could easily spend much longer. Even if you're not wild about flowers, there are some wonderful trees here and there are quiet spots away from the crowds. I was hoping to have a scone & a pot of tea but the scones looked pretty flat & uninteresting & the tea isn't in pots but paper cups. So I passed on that. It's a shame that the cafe is so dreary (in terms of what's on offer) and pricey, but cafe aside if you come here, you won't be disappointed.

This is an amazing garden, though it's well worth becoming a member if you want to visit frequently, as it's very pricey. We like going for the children's trails and activities that they often run for free. The website usually tells you exactly what's on. There are so many different parts of the garden to explore that you're spoilt for choice. It does get busy at certain times of the year and at weekends, but you can usually find a quiet area. The glasshouse is amazing, and it's fantastic to see the butterflies in there flying freely in January/February, though that too gets very busy! I would recommend taking a picnic, as the restaurant is expensive in my opinion. Regular birds of prey displays and seasonal events. The Autumn food fair is worth a visit.

Visited Wisley at long last after many times of promising myself on others recommendations. Decided to take RHS Annual Membership by Direct Debit for £40.50 which allows two people entrance for as many visits as you want in the year to the four main RHS gardens in the UK. You also have access to over 145 of RHS Partner Gardens. Bearing in mind entrance for an adult is £12.20, this represents fantastic value. The gardens were a delight. At this time of the year, the hydrangeas were splendid. Such pretty varieties. The glasshouse was beautiful. Fabulous huge plants and displays of all types of flora from around the world. It was nice being able to use the upper walkway to look down through the canopy. We didn't have children with us but it was lovely to see parents out with them in a healthy, learning environment. We ate lunch in the Glasshouse cafe. A giant jacket potato with tuna and chives filling plus salad which was plenty for two people. We asked for two plates, staff happy to help. There is a good policy of being environmentally friendly with waste which was encouraging.

It is all lovely, the grounds, the cafe and the shop. Well worth visiting each season as the vista changes dramatically.

A friend and i wanted to just pop out for a coffee, we ended up here. Glad we did, sat in the sun and chatting. We then while on site, had a wonder round the shops which was nice and we good some treats.
