perfectly located yards from the beach, the upside down configuration with lounge upstairs giving view s of he bay and bedroom on the lower floor is perfect. Port Eynon itself seemed very quiet although it is surrounded by camping and caravan parks. The bay bay and beach near the cottage was great. pity the weather cant be guaranteed
We ended up staying in both Maize Cottage and Cherry Tree Cottage, because in the end there were 11 in our group.
Cherry Tree Cottage is just a nice house - well-designed, well-equipped and everything seemed quite new. There is even a nice garden. One of the bedrooms was nice enough to generate an argument about who got which room!
Maize Cottage has a bit more of a holiday feel to it, with the living areas being upstairs and so having the great view. I was worried about it being "mid-terrace" but we heard nothing from either neighbour. There were a couple of minor niggles (the cooker wasn't easy to use and one of the bathrooms has no shelves for putting things on) but these were just minor points.
The owners were flexible about us temporarily moving a couple of things between the properties so that we could have everybody eat together.
Port Eynon isn't quite as highly-rated as some of the other Gower bays, but that made it great to be able to walk out of the house to a big quiet beach.
Not particularly cheap, but OK if you are spreading the cost between a few people.
