I visited Rhossili Bay during a recent holiday and I must say it is totally deserving of it being voted 9th best beach in the world, 3rd best beach in Europe and the best beach in the UK. When going into the sea there did not seem to be any hidden ledges, so reassuring when you have young children going into the water, although the waves were fairly high which were being used by surfers and body boarders. Due to the vast size of the beach you'll can always find a spot on the beach to sit and soak up the views, as it is never over crowded. If sitting on the beach is not your thing you can walk over the hills which form the back drop to the bay and the views from here are amazing and at low tide a walk out to Worms Head (make sure you book in and out at the coast guard hut) which is another great walk with great views of the bay, however the walk across the causeway is not the easiest and not ideal for dogs. There is quite a climb down to the beach from the car park in Rhossili, although there is easier access half way up the beach from another car park in Llangennith, but this is the other side of the hills, but you then only need to walk through the sand dunes to gain access to the beach. An awesome beach that is a must visit.
