We had. Lovely day out at the Aviodrome museum. The kids enjoyed the old and new planes and to see a 747 aircraft from up close. Topped off with some themed playgrounds and a very nice indoor playground.
Lastly we did a 20min flight with a Cessna with my 6 yr old in the co-pilot seat. It was fantastic.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Museum is kept very clean.
Expect we will be back some time.

The museum is a modest representation of the history of civil aviation in The Netherlands. Although owned by a major leisure company since the bankruptcy of the original charitable foundation the museum is primarily staffed by a crew of knowledgeable loungers, the majority of whom are retired aviation professionals - pilots, engineers etc.

Star of the collection is perhaps a replica of the original terminal at Schiphol. The collection includes a DC2, DC3, DC4, Lockheed Constellation, De Havilland Dove, B747-200, F27 and F100. Not as extensive as the major museums such as Duxford but a great day out nonetheless. Very kid friendly

We spent a very happy few hours in the Aviodrome attraction - lots of exhibits all beautifully kept - some inside a hanger and some on the tarmac. Particular highlights are the original Schipol terminal building rebuilt here, the KLM 747, the Constellation, Dakota... I could go on.

I'm not going to complain about the signs being in Dutch because, well, you know, it's the language they speak there.

Wel worth a visit.

For Aircraft enthusiasts, this is a real find. An excellent collection of aircraft laid out in an extremely user-friendly manner. Unlike many museums, visitors get the opportunity to climb aboard many exhibits including Lockheed Constellation, DC3, DC4 and many more. Excellent facilities onsite, a great day out and worth the journey

Great day out, staff/volunteers very knowledgeable with good English. Not a great place for real plane enthusiasts as the signage isn't the best, and what there is is almost exclusively in Dutch. I imagine that when it is quiet (and don't have kids) you'd be able to get lot of more detailed facts from the staff. What is great is that some exhibits have been set up so that kids can climb over them (e.g. Antonov An2), this satisfies their curiosity and increases their interest. The 20 minute 3-D movie we saw didn't require deep knowledge of Dutch - we could work out what was happening and enjoyed it. Highlights: 747, baggage conveyor play area, bouncy castle, movie. Netherlands Museum Card accepted too.
