A group of six of us Malaysians were fortunate to live in this cozy bed and breakfast for a week recently. The rooms were warm and showers refreshing. The morning breakfast started off with freshly squeezed orange juice served in the beautiful Dutch dining room with long table filled with varieties of cheese and rolls, homemade jams, fruits,Danone yoghurt along with fresh cappuccino, and candle light. Antoinette, the owner though amazed at our daily request for eggs, served us happily eggs scrambled, or sunny side up or soft boiled! She also helped us to rent our car and got our special promotion train tickets to Utretch and Amsterdam despite the tedious work of having to fill details, pay online and print each individual ticket.
The place is near to the train station so some rooms you can hear the train passing regularly. She has also a stand alone studio, but all of us occupied the rooms upstairs. As is typical in most Dutch houses, the stairs are narrow and winding.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- A beautiful house, close to the centre of Nijmegen. It's an old house with a huge garden. A house big enough to build in for beautiful guestrooms with ensuite facilities. There is a huge kitchen where breakfast is served, or maybe in good weather you prefer having your breakfast out in the garden. It is a special house. Although situated on the edge of Nijmegen town centre it makes, also because of the big garden, a rural impression. ... more less
