“Nice location”
Reviewed 21 April 2013

Nicely located hotel, close to the old city. Room on the riverside offered a great view on the bridge and the ships. Good breakfast facilities. Room was not very big, but clean and well furnished. Owner arranged a parking space on the small private parking space that they have.

When we called the hotel to say we would not make the 11pm check-in time the owner was kind enough to wait until we arrived. He also made sure we knew a safe place to park our car.

The location is very good. In just 10-15 minutes you can me in the old town or a park or shopping or movies.

Our room had a river view which was nice. You could not open the windows, so it did get a little stuffy.

The elevator was not working and navigating even small bags was difficult in the narrow staircase.

The hotel gives free entrance to the bike museum - located next door. Guest can also rent bikes.

This family-run hotel is charming and friendly, Rooms are immaculate. From this hotel you can easily walk through Nijmegen to explore it. The owners and staff are lovely and go out of their way to make a guest's stay worthwhile. Breakfast is very charming and generous. I have stayed there many many times and appreciate the lovely family who offer such kind service to those who come from elsewhere. I've stayed at 3 hotels in Nijmegen and they are by far the best. A real gem.

Room Tip: The rooms at the back are quieter and look out on a park. Those on the front look out on the river.

I was in Nijmegen for 3 nights on business and stayed here. As with all European hotels, the rooms are very small by American standards. However, it was very neat and clean, as well as quiet. I was unable to hear my colleague in the neighboring room, even when I know she had the television on. My room had a river view (of the Waal), which provided entertainment 24 hours a day, though again, it was peaceful and quiet. I was relieved that the hotel had a functioning elevator, which is not always the case in Europe, as my room was on the 6th floor.

The hotel staff was friendly and welcoming, and volunteered to have the included breakfast ready for us to serve ourselves since we had to leave every morning more than 2 hours before they usually serve it. The breakfast itself had a wide selection of fresh rolls, sliced meats and cheeses, a selection of yogurts and cereals, fresh fruit, hard-boiled eggs, and wonderful, individually-brewed coffee, cappuccino, or lattes.

I had very little time to explore the neighborhood, but took a couple of 20 minute walks, strolling down the riverfront toward the Holland Casino, and up the hill behind the hotel to the small park there. There are a number of reasonably priced restaurants within 1/4 mile of the hotel. Even if you only have a few minutes, walk down the street in front of the hotel (toward the bridge), and at the end of the building, look up to find a fascinating example of street art.

My only regret is that I had no opportunity to explore the attached Velorama (bicycle museum). Its operating hours didn't coincide with my free time. Even so, one of the staff offered to give me a tour of it after hours, but it would have meant tearing him away from the UEFA 2012 football match between the Netherlands and Germany, and I just couldn't do it.

We stayed here only for one night, but it was a very relaxing stay. The hotel is located 2 minutes away from the city center and right in front of the river. Parking is free (unusual for the Netherlands). Rooms are ok-size, very clean and rather quiet. The staff is friendly and approachable. Breakfast was good in quality but poor in variety.
I would certainly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay - especially as we had a river view. The attached bicycle museum is surprisingly (to us) interesting too.

Room Tip: Ask for river view - preferably on higher floor for better view

I stayed here for 1 night on business.

Check in very friendly and efficient. The room was very small but clean with a comfortable bed. Views out of the window were excellent looking out over the river. The bar was very quite and I was the only one there, owner/manager was etremely friendly.

Breakfast was good . On checking out requested them to find taxi, they then went and printed out maps just in case the taxi got lost. Exceptional service.

If I'm in the area again will definitly stay here again
