Groningen was amazing. Hostel was clean, quiet and in a very good location in town. The Doner/pizza shop across the street was good. There is some good bars and a variety of food near. Hostel is not far from walking distance to everything. Parking is in a garage next door. Website says nothing about $$ to park and when we got there we found out it costs 23€ per day! When we got their they said it would only cost 16€. When we left they said they ran out of the discount cards so we had to pay the full 23€ and they had no sympathy.

We ended up crashing in this hotel for a night as we missed the last train to Amsterdam. The location of the hostel was very near to the Groningen police station and 5 mins walk from the Groningen central station. We went to the hotel at midnight and the guy in the reception was very quick in getting us checked-in.Hostel was pretty decent and a good deal for a night stay on the move. However, the free wi-fi wasn't working well.

The 8 person dorm was quite large with personal lockers, comfy beds and was cleaned daily. The whole place was clean, well run with helpful staff and free wi-fi internet. The location is also very good and central to lots of bars and restaurants.

The only downside is that the en-suite bathroom in the 8 man dorm is TINY! Way too small - which was a shame.

It's a nice clean cheap hostel. We were staying in February and it was very cold in the room. Also, it was rather confusing to find the entrance as in the evening the entrance to the hostel was through some hotel nearby. Lady on reception wasn't friendly and seemed really tired. When we asked about early check-out the next day she said it's fine, however, there wasn't anybody on reception when we left.

Had a good stay in late January 2013. The hostel is clean, newly renovated, and has a nice feel to it. Stayed in tiny 6 person room that barely fit all of our luggage. Were provided with fresh towels each day and the room had nice lockers to lock our stuff up in. The beds were comfy and the hostel was quiet and I had no trouble sleeping at night. Reception was helpful in giving us directions and there is no curfew, so you can come and go as you please. The hostel uses electronic key cards so that simplifies things as well. There is free wifi in the hostel and computers in the lobby for you to use if need be. We ended up meeting a bunch of other people our age at the hostel, and everyone was friendly that we did meet.

My only complaint was the size of the 6 person room. In between the 3 sets of bunk beds there was only room for one person to walk, nothing more. I'm not sure if all the rooms in the hostel are this small, but maybe try to pick a different size room than the 6 person if possible.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing away from the street. It's quieter. Also, stay away from the cramped 6-per...

Stayed here for one night in April 2013.
The reception was friendly, our luggage was locked in safely until our room was available.
The dining area/ bar/ common room was colourful. Not cozy or inviting, mind, but not uncomfortable either. Hard benches and linoleum everywhere. Breakfast could be booked additionally. We didn't and were glad about later. As we past the breakfast buffet in the morning it looked really simple. You could get better breakfast all over town for the same price.
The TV in our room was somehow redundant, and on top you had to purchase a remote to use it (10€).
The room itself was tiled with more linoleum, it felt really uncomfortable for a bedroom. The beds were horrible, though. Our backs ached all over the next morning. One mattress was a thin as paper the other as hard as rock.
The bathroom was alright: not too small and most importantly clean. Towels were supplied, but really, 2 medium sized towels are just not enough for 2 adults (in the evening and next morning) if you have to use them for your hands and your body and maybe even want something to wrap around your hair or to dry the flooded bathroom with...
Our window was facing out to one of the busier streets of Groningen, which also had a construction side right below our window. It couldn't be helped, but it was noisy non the less. You could here sounds through the walls, but it was mainly the TV and it was muffled.
I suppose it's okay if you just want a bed for the night- but don't expect anything else.

Stayed here Monday to Friday and was very happy here. Snacks, hot and cold drinks available 24 hours. Great location with kebab shops, bars/pubs, coffee shops, supermarket and centre of town on your doorstep.

Simple rooms, had an en suite room with shower. Was very cold one night but that was down to us not being able to use the air conditioner, ended up presuming you could only cool the room down and not warm it up but could have been wrong.

Free wifi in the hotel as well as free internet in the main lobby with computers set up ready to use. Not an internet person while on holiday personally but my friend made full use of the computers

Great service from the people behind the front desk, letting you out for a cheeky smoke/cigarette then letting you back in again during the early hours wasn't a problem for them, would stay here again, prices extremely good, I look forward to staying again hopefully later this year

Room Tip: I stayed in room 102 with friend which is a room for 3 people. Was directly above the main entrance...
