“Excellent hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2013

Excellent hotel in a wonderful area. The room was relatively large, spotless clean and very well equiped. The breakfast was perfect. Well, it sounds like an advertisement, so I will write here and a recommendation here - please warm up in advance the rooms when you know that a guest is arriving and the outside temperature is below zero.

We have been visiting Beaumont since 2002 and stayed a couple of times each year.

What we like most about the hotel is the very good Alcace Kitchen( a mix of German/Belgium/French) the enormous wine collection and the decent and clean rooms.
The rooms can be a little small or noisy and you should ask for the better ones. We recommend the Suite which also has a Jacuzi and launch area.
You can reserve an indoor parkingspot upon reservation and you should ask for a weekend package if you stay and want to dine as well.

The location of the hotel is perfect, easy to get to and 10 minutes walk to the main City Center.

Room Tip: Ask for the bigger and renovated rooms. Most noisy rooms in the weekend are at the front. Quit room...

Dear guest ‘Peng4711’,
Thank you for staying with us and your kind words.
Our restaurant used to be fully oriented to the Alsace. Since Harry's we have broadened our horizons. Harry’s kitchen under the guidance of Chef Audrey Eussen is international (and indeed also some influences for example of the Alsace) distinctive and seasonal. Harry’s stands for informal eating and drinking in a casual-yet-uptown setting.

We are looking forward to welcome you again at the Beaumont hotel and at Harry’s!
All the best,

The location is just brilliant - very close to the train and bus stations, and a short walk to the city centre. The location itself is lovely with a wonderful bakery opposite (brilliant for breakfast) and great restaurants and little shops around and lining the way to the city centre. We stayed in a room in the separate building from the main hotel, and the room was larger than expected, with a comfortable bed, and very clean. The staff were very friendly, helping us with bus times for a day trip to Aachen and booking us a taxi back to the airport. The whole area felt very safe as well - no complaints!

Stayed for four nights over Easter holidays in the Beaumont Hotel (not Residence) and although we enjoyed the ease of travel from the train station (very easy walking distance) and the Wyck neighborhood itself (decent night life and food options), we did struggle with the hotel itself. The beds (two twins pushed together with separate blankets in spite of the claim of it being ONE bed) were comfortable and the room was modern and spacious. Bed robes and slippers were provided and the linens were quality. Having said all that, we were awakened each day by the sound of doors being slammed in the narrow hallways. After a while it got old and tiresome. We did forgo house keeping services for a couple of days because the service stopped at eleven or twelve. When they did come in the room, they left a pile of dust on the headboard that was impressive even by my relaxed standards. BIG minus: no food available anywhere in the hotel or neighborhood after a certain time so if you decide to have a late one, plan for it in advance! Additionally, our Nespresso machine directions did not match the actual machine we had.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 211 and the good news is that the windows opened and it was a nice sized room. BUT...

We stayed one night at Hotel Beaumont, it is a pleasant staying experience
The staff are friendly and provided clear information with parking
Compared to another hotel in Liege, Hotel Beaumont is worthy the value.
We choose the package offer--one night staying at Residence with dinner and breakfast,
the room is not that big but still cozy, with free mini bar items and table clothes to bring home as a memory that’s definitely for me a good reason to go back again if I would ever visit Maastricht. The hotel lobby bar provides free tea/coffee for the guests, it’s a small detail but
that makes Hotel Beaumont special.
Parking lot is easy to reach, didn’t compared the price to park in the public place but
due to it’s located in the busy street, would save some trouble to park directly at Hotel
Beaumont’s parking lot. Thanks to the good location, even arrive by train will be still easy to reach (walk out from the train station and go straight then it’s there)

The dinner was very nice, but the wine to start with is a bit expensive. Found out in the end, which is not a good surprise. Would be nice if we got the wine menu at the beginning then
we could decide which wine to order. But in general it is very nice.
The breakfast price is around 20EUR if order separately, but as we have a package deal so it’s included. Personally I think it’s worth the price, but it’s subjective. Some traveler might think
it’s expensive but all I can say sometimes a bit luxury is all you need for a good holiday memory.

Stayed for 3 nights for the superlative Maastricht tefaf art fair. Hotel is upmarket, clean and bright, modern. Fellow guests are well-heeled and gracious travellers. I asked for a quiet room, and they recommended a Comfort Room in a separate building across the narrow street from the original building, saying that it would be quieter, as it would not front the main street which the original hotel did. It would of course, have been ideal to get a room facing the back of the main hotel, as that would then have been in the historic building and quiet at the same time.
Nevertheless, room on the 4th floor of the new building was very spacious even though ceiling height was low, all modern conveniences were available, the 2 twin beds pushed together would be fine for a couple too. Lighting was dark, could have been a level higher. Bathroom with deep bathtub, separate toilet. Bathroom is small, but adequate for a small person. Very clean throughout.
Free drinks (replenished daily) in the mini-bar in the room, which was a nice touch. Decor is very plain throughout in taupe and brown colours, the whole effect is purely functional. Lovely view out of the large windows. Room has both heating and air-conditioner. Excellent buffet breakfast at 19Euros but worth every dollar for the superb spread including freshly cooked eggs to order.
Main building receptionists are helpful, and the tefaf shuttle runs to and from the hotel at regular and frequent intervals, so that is very convenient for the fair. Shops (including a well-stocked and very welcoming Hermes) are in abundance around the corner on the main street, with many good recommended restaurants within 5 minutes walk in the side streets (a safe feeling, and I am a small lady) radiating off the main street, making the Beaumont a most convenient location for everything. There is a nicely decorated Yoga Palace further along the street which I saw through the glass windows, but I did not get a chance to go as it was closed for the weekend.
I would definitely stay again at the Beaumont whenever I returned to Maastricht.
Recommended restaurants: Mediterraneo at Rechstraat 73 (Italian, book as far ahead as possible), Le 3 Seaux at 41 Gubbelstraat (seafood).
Room to book: Standard room would be fine for single person, Comfort Room a spacious indulgence, but try to get a quiet room at the back of the original building, not the residence. (There are very few quiet rooms in the old building).

Room Tip: Book early for the tefaf fair, ask for quiet room at the back, whether it is historic building (bett...

We stayed at Beaumont with kids and parents in March 2013. No valet parking, but there is a secure hotel-owned car park at about 150m (23€/24h). We booked 2 interconnecting rooms, which were located in a separate building 'Beaumont Residence' across the street (too far away to have our children asleep with baby-phone while dining at the hotel's restaurant). In contrast to the main building, this residence lacked charm and personality. Both interconnecting rooms were rather small with only a poststamp-sized bathroom, but were comfortably furnished and had good beds.
Highlight of our stay at Beaumont was dining in its Restaurant, which proved very child-friendly and well-staffed. Seating was cosy and stylish, with large windows and intimate lighting. Food was very reasonably priced (33€ for 3-course dinner) and well-prepared in an attractive open kitchen. Breakfast as well was a joy. Hotel is perfectly located for exploring Maastricht by foot.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Hotel Beaumont is located in a stately building in the elegant district of Wyck, in the centre of Maastricht. The Beaumont family has run the hotel at this location since 1912. The hotel’s interior, by the British architect David Chipperfield, is modern while at the same time maintaining the building’s typical features and respecting its history. One example of this is the use of minimalist decor in rooms with original ceiling features. Under the inspiring leadership of four generations the family business has grown into a modern hotel with 124 rooms, a number of conference and banquet rooms, and Harry’s restaurant which is a member of Maastricht Culinair, the premier association of quality restaurants in Maastricht. For more than 100 years, honest hospitality and personal service have been the core values of this family-run business. Welcome to Hotel Beaumont! ... more   less
