Stayed in the hotel for 8 days, while attending a course in Maastricht University. Nice location with easy access to public transport. Short walk to Markt square & near to lot of nice restaurants. The hotel serves nice breakfast, but no lunch or dinner is served. Rooms are celan & nice. Service is good. Front desk is very helpful. Nothing less & nothing more. Overall, a pleasant experience.

We had some bad luck at this hotel, but overall I wonder about the value for money aspect here. The first room we got seemed ok, but the babykot had not been set up yet. No problem, but without an elevator it was quite annoying we had to go up to the fourth floor and run down again to ask for the kot. It was even more annoying to discover that the heavy rain had caused a shower in the middle of the room, which led both us and the very nice hotel attendant to opt for another room. Due to a fully booked hotel we were offered a "special" room. This room, called "The Top" was right under the roof and covered two floors. The second floor, however, was only about 1m50 high, so I hit my head fairly frequently there. Also, it was four floors up in another building, so we had to carry our stuff and the baby up there again.

But even if we hadn't had this kind of trouble, we had family staying somewhere else in Maastricht for the same price, and they had a five star treatment and a room four times the footage of our room. Overall, not what I expect from a "quaint" hotel like this. Also, the drug dealers outside are simply dreadful.

Room Tip: Don't take the room entitled "The Top"

The reviews on this hotel are pretty accurate, we certainly did not have a bad time at this hotel and our expectations were met however one does wonder about the value for money aspect.

The hotel is very quirky in its design and they are not kidding when they say a short walk to the old town and the markt as it is basically 100 meters away. I did not find the location that noisy and at night Maastricht itself is not particularly busy traffic wise anyway.

Our room was on the top floor which was not exactly welcome considering it is quite a walk from the train station and then have to heave our luggage up 5 floors to the room in the attic. The room is rather fancy dress B&B for my liking but it is quirky and an old building and perhaps staying in large luxurious hotels in Utrecht and Amsterdam my expectations were a little high with this place however for the price per night which wasn't much less than 4* and 5* in other towns it seemed a little high.

The room was dark and only had 1 small window, a large bed, a seperate small bed, a wardrobe which you couldn't actually use (it was sealed for some reason), a safe, a desk with mirror, a large bathroom, tea and coffee facilities, no hairdryer which was annoying and complimentary toiletries. There is a Mini bar and a small TV with a couple of English channels on there.

There is a small bar and breakfast/dining room and the drinks are quite reasonable and free WiFi.

The location is excellent and the it was fine for 1 night but i would not stay at this hotel for any longer than that quite frankly, also the front of the hotel is locked at 11pm so if you have a room here you will have a key but if you have just arrived you have to call somebody i guess.

But just as all the other reviews have said - overall it was OK and comfortable.

Great location , not cheap , breakfast ok but pricey.rooms ok , no air con .
We were in a street facing room which at night was noisy with the sounds of loud ,out of it people outside our window...bit intimidating....
Value for money average , not a cheap city...

Chose this hotel for its proximity to the old town and underground car park on the same block. Asked for a quiet room but the location makes this impossible. However the street has little traffic and a portable air con was installed so it was theoretically possible to sleep with the windows closed. The room was clean and of good size on the first floor but the window panes were covered with white muslin and room decorated in beige, brown and black so very gloomy. Bathroom very dated and steel bath badly chipped. Didn't take breakfast but kettle and fridge provided. No meals provided other than breakfast but many restaurants within 5minutes walk in any direction. Staff genial and helpful. Free wifi good. A good choice to spend two nights for a full days exploration of the town but probably not for a weeks honeymoon.

The location is excellent and the reception staff friendly and welcoming but I suspect that different rooms in this hotel would give rise to different opinions. We were in room 34
I think,

good points: quiet, comfortable large bed, coffee machine, nice bathroom, .free wifi.
bad points: VERY small especially as under the eaves so no headroom in part of the bedroom, too warm (under eaves) but no fan or air con, coffee corner 2 coffees but only 1 sugar and 1 teabag, mini bar fridge not working. wifi reception very weak, maybe because we were on the top floor, no lift.

The parking arrangements are very complicated and we took a while to find the right public car park. A printed card with a map and instructions would have helped. Parking in Maastricht is expensive, 22 euros for overnight (or 24 hrs).

Only stayed 1 night, but worth a recommendation!

The hotel is a few minutes away from the 'Hoge Brug', near plenty of shops and bars. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They don't have a night porter but you can access the hotel with your own key. After check-out we could leave our luggage at the reception to explore the city.

The bed could have been a bit more comfortable, but the services in the room overall were good.

The patio in the back is really nice, if weather permits, you should have a coffee, smoke break or even breakfast there.

There is free cake - "Limburgse vlaai" all day :)
