I booked for my wife and I for 1 night to enjoy the Andre Rieu concert. The Hotel was easy to find from the main market square and within easy access to the town.

The welcome upon check in was very warm and friendly and we were offered the chance to book a breakfast.

Our room was 1.05 and was at the rear of the hotel. No view but we were not there to look at the view so it was not a problem. The good side was that it was very quiet. I understand the front of the hotel could be noisy as the side street is cobbled. The room was spacious and very comfortable. There were some very nice additions in the room which made it worthwhile. WIFI was free and good strength.

We enjoyed the atmosphere in the saloon during the free coffee and Limburg Pie which was delicious. We sat for a little while and also enjoyed the wine and olives (although I don't eat olive but they did look nice and fresh). The downside is that people are allowed to smoke indoors in Holland - we are spoilt with the ban in the UK.

The breakfast was very nice and there was a great selection of hot and cold food.
There is plenty to explore in this little hotel. Unfortunately we didn't have much time to really enjoy the cinema and all the little artefacts but we enjoyed what we saw.

Overall this was an excellent choice and would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the Hotel as the road can be a little noisy.

Have just returned from a weekend at this hotel in Maastricht while attending an Andre Rieu concert in the town. First time we have visited and so rather took pot luck with the hotel, choosing one that was in walking distance of the Vrthof square where the concert is held. From that point of view, our choice was perfect and the hotel's location was ideal with a two minute walk into town.
The hotel was great and unusual having been a former cinema. Our room was the Titanic room which was an enormous room with king-size bed and two singles. Sadly the one downside was the noise on each evening we were there. This may well have been contributed to by the fact that the Andre Rieu concerts were happening (plus warm weather and open windows), and noisy people were still walking the streets in the early hours. Added to by vehicles travelling on a cobbled street and I would advise a room at the back if you are a light sleeper! Breakfast was lovely and a good choice and the coffee and Limburg cake in the afternoon was a real treat and very much appreciated. All in all a great place to stay and certainly reccommended to all Andre Rieu fans!

Room Tip: Stay at the rear!

The decor was nice (oriented around old movie stars) and the room and bathroom adequately spacious. The lounge next to the lobby was also nice for having a nightcap.

But the overall comfort of the hotel was NOT so great. First of all, the pillows were awful...like sacks stuffed with rags!! Lumpy and not comfortable. The weather was warm and there was no air conditioner and the window only open about 3 inches. But they did provide a portable fan in the room, which was a life saver the second night.

We were really looking forward to watching a movie in English in the evening only to find that the feed was so poor, half of the dialogue was lost and the front desk person was really put out that when we asked her to address it. She changed the TV, but found that didn't address the issue and pretty much told us we were just out of luck.

The breakfast was an ordinary German breakfast buffet with the exception of them entirely ruining the fresh fruit by putting sugar in it. And the chopped bacon was gross. I would definitely not stay here again.

Room Tip: Go to a different hotel.

Stayed for 2 nights and what an excellent hotel, staff are friendly and very helpful and the rooms are very clean and bed comfortable. Didn't try the breakfast as I thought it was a bit pricey (14.50 Euros). Hotel is in great location, easy walking distance to both squares and close to all the bars, bistro's and supermarket. If I'm ever in Maastricht, will stay again

Nice hotel, maybe not 4 stars as they claim, but comfortable rooms, decent sized and well located for the town center, it's literally a few yards from on of the two main squares. The hotel is built in what was an old cinema, which gave it a bit of character. The most memorable thing about this hotel was the full sized plastic horse in reception, complete with lampshade on head (yes really). I'm not sure if this was a permanent feature but it took a huge amount of space in the smallish reception area!! Weird idea. I'll like the free tea/coffee and cake available - a good idea.
