4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 October 2013

When you drive around Roermond -- you will see signs for the Hotel Dux all over. There are so many signs that I thought the hotel can't be *that* good... but I was wrong.

Location / Parking: very good. Pretty close to the outlet -- totally walkable (perhaps 10 to 15 minutes from the center of the outlet). I had a car -- so I didn't get to experience the walk. The hotel has parking in the basement. You take a car elevator down to the basement. There is space only for about 6 to 7 cars -- thus, you should reserve a spot when you book your hotel room. It cost 15 euros a night. However, the check in lady mentioned there was free parking a short drive away.

Room: AMAZING. Huge. Spacious. Bed was very good (on the firm side). Bathroom was huge, modern, clean. Ultra comfort is what you get.

Pets: are allowed. I didn't have a pet -- but another room on my floor did. The walls weren't exactly thin -- but I could hear a dog howling every now and then.

Dinner: in the brasserie was pretty good. I wouldn't say mind blowing food -- but okay. My cod & couscous was a little too oily. The crispy fish skin arrived a little soggy. Dessert wasn't that great -- I didn't finish it. I'd give it a B.

Breakfast: had the basics: all kinds of bread, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, bacon, super mini muffins, juice, etc. The great thing was I came down at 10am (ending time for breakfast) -- and they didn't rush to keep the food. That's always nice.

All things were amazing (minus the mediocre dinner) -- up until 12:02 pm (check out time). I was zipping up my luggage and the phone rang. The lady asked me when I was checking out and HAD to tell me that they had to clean the rooms. Yeah, I know. Not like I'm trying to take advantage of the hotel. I thought it was a little poor taste to call at 12:02 -- perhaps 12:15 or 12:30 would make a little more sense. When I went down -- there was no one. No one at the 'front desk' -- and no guests waiting for a room. So I didn't understand the need to make a guest feel rushed.

Otherwise, this place is a gem! I would totally stay here again!!

Had an opportunity to stay a few nights at the Hotel Dux in Roermond. This Hotel is simply fantastic! We had an amazing experience. The rooms are at par with a 5 to 7 star hotel with efficient workstations in the rooms, comfortable beds and pillows and the bathrooms are to die for. We found the staff were extremely friendly and so warm. It is very very popular with the local population in Roermond. They have a nice breakfast and the restaurant has a very modern ambience with a very wide selection of wines, bubbles and terrific cuisine. I recommend the Asparagus soup. If you are in netherlands, it is worth driving into Roermond just to stay in this hotel and walk around the town which has some monuments worth visiting. The Dux Hotel will arrange a guided tour of the ancient cathedral and the church which are near the hotel. We had a chance to interact with the staff and learnt that the Hotel sources various items from across the world to achieve this quality. We were impressed! The Hotel is certainly worth every euro you spend here. Dont forget to book in advance. This hotel really pampers their guests. We walked out very happy :)

Room Tip: Rooms are very quiet. The street side rooms give you a great view of the little canal with swans and...

Nice comfortable restaurant with attentive people serving. Plain, recognizable food of excellent quality (a beautifull white cod glistering like fresh snow) and a nice wine stock (not just Chardonnay). The price/quality aspect is correct.
A good place to visit. Make sure to reserve your seat specially in the weekend. The locals like it here too.

Room Tip: Although I didn't stay overnight I had a look in the rooms. Quite nice and practical (sufficient...

The hotel Dux is a really nice surprise for us in the end of 2 weeks holiday in Europe (Vienna, Brussels, Brugge). The hotel is modern (built a year ago), the rooms are spacious and very nicely decorated. The bed is extremely comfortable, the bathroom is nicely and comfortably designed and overall impression is very good. There is Espresso coffee machine in the room; minibar and high speed internet are included. Room service is efficient, food is very tasty.
Previously we stayed in Roermond many times in different hotels and this one is by far the best.
The staff is helpful and friendly and leave you with a feeling that they can solve any of your problems. We would like to especially thank Eefje who made our stay in the hotel even more welcome and pleasant.

I have stayed in several hotels in Roermond on trips to our office. First time in the Hotel Dux and I was very impressed. Location is excellent, room facilities second to none & very friendly, efficient staff made my stay a pleasure, even though it was business related. I didn't eat in the restaurant, but the breakfast was very good.

Good value. This hotel has lovely decor. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The food in the restaurant is lovely. The bar doesn't have much atmosphere though and the bar man couldn't mix a cocktail - something that needs to be remedied! :-)
happily recommend it.
