What a great find, yes rooms are basic but very, very , very clean. The guy in charge could be called Basil Fawlty but he is really nice once you talk to him.

It's not a hotel but it is better than a B&B. at the end of the day you get what you pay for, with this you get more than you pay for. It's cheap , basic but in a great location, well decorated and clean!

I'd stay again

This was without doubt the worst place I have EVER stayed. The noisy hotel is situated on a very busy road junction and is hosted by the most unpleasant and inhospitable man imaginable. The minuscule "comfort" rooms are far from comfortable...No desk, chair, tea/coffee making etc - and no window in the bathroom! Cables trail across the minute room; which is so small that there is not even room for a beside table each - even with the small single beds pushed right up against each other! No chest of drawers (no room for one!) and teeny "bath" towels, which are just about hand towel size. The rooms in the attic are either boiling hot - I have had smaller saunas in en-suite rooms - or freezing cold, and the walls are paper-thin so you can hear every sound from the next room. It's such a shame Tripadvisor doesn't have a zero stars option...

Room Tip: My recommendation: Stay Somewhere Else!!!

I booked a Junior room on second floor for one night, which was adequate for my needs. The staff were polite; the room, though small, was clean and comfortable. Such a small chamber would have benefitted from a brighter decor. I was a bit disappointed that there were no hot-drink facilities in the room, and the temperature control on the shower mixer taps was abysmal.

Room Tip: If you are stopping for more than one night or you like a hot drink first thing then don't go fo...

An old hotel that has been redecorated. The decoration is a bit 'pomo' with lots of light grey and square shapes, but the effect is clean and light. We stayed here several times, both in a large room on the first floor as in smaller rooms on the second floor, always with very good bathrooms.
great breakfast and very good service.

Arrived at 17:30 so did not encounter anything with regards to the before-mentioned 'lock-out' time. Unfortunately no parking spot in front of the hotel but in direct proximity (200-300 meters) ample parking space; so never an issue. The lady at the reception was very friendly and check-in was done in an instant. Then climb up to the 2nd floor and yes no elevator but for me personally no issue as I only had a small bag for a one night stay. Room (single) a bit small 2.5 * 4 meters and with a low ceiling (roughly 1,90 meter) with bath and toilet was clean, nicely furnished and located on a sort of attick on street side. A stroll into town center takes roughly 10 minutes where you can easily find good restaurants or lesser priced eating cafe's. Had a good night sleep and after the continental breakfast (all fine) I did check-out. From a price/quality perspective all worth and would opt again for staying in this hotel.

Room Tip: Not seen an elevator, if you are taller than 1.90 meter do check with the hotel which room they book...

The Hotel de Prins is centrally located in Sittard, close to the train station ( 1/2 a mile) and also about the same distance to downtown.
This was my second visit. It is a nice, clean hotel for sure and the service is friendly but a few things bothered me:
The front door is locked until 4pm and when returning later in the evening one needs to use a key at the back door to get into the hotel.
The owner explained that actually it is not a hotel, but a "bed and breakfast" or a Hotel Garni- i do not know what a Hotel Garni is. At any rate it is somewhat confusing because of the hotel name. I think it has always been a hotel and now it is called a bed and breakfast. Anyway, no big deal.
A bigger deal is the fact that there is no elevator. Last year and this year my room was on the second floor, which is about 4 or five sets of stairs up. Very difficult to do with suitcases.
For that reason I will make sure to request a first floor room the next time. If none is available I will stay somewhere else. At 49 euro the price was excellent.

Room Tip: As in my review: as low to the ground as possible.
