...and decided to review this restaurant. Eating truly well in the Netherlands -my distinct opinion- just isn't as obvious as in some other countries, and tripadvisor's 3 dots standing for "average" and 4 for "very good" is quite a range of difference. Let us be clear: the last time I went to "Lades" we were three persons and we had a very satisfying meal and a more than decent bottle of Argentinian Chardonnay for far less than half the cost of what we would have paid in some nearby steak chain of repute. We had a very "normal" grilled meats menu, served with stewed vegetables served in a tajine, and we asked for (and received) the usual tasty thin aubergine/eggplant slices skilletted in oil. Enough, good quality, indeed very tasty, and no-nonsense rapid service, so that my evaluation definitely puts this in the "very good" range. If the second time I ate there, I found it somewhat less, is mostly due to having ordered food I like less : "kefta mealballs in tomato sauce" is no match for grilled meats! You want good food, not very expensive, friendly service? Don't hesitate!
