“Great!”

Currently staying at this hotel. If you want to feel at home away from home -this is exactly the place to be.The hotel is neat, relaxed and very conveniently located. The 15-minute walk to the city centre is pleasant and doesn't create any inconvenience. Free coffee, tea and beverages add a very graceful touch to the whole experience.I will definitely stay here again when being again in Breda.Highly recommended!

I recently stayed at Het Scheepshuys ahead of attending the Dutch Air Force show at Nearby Gilze Rijen. As other reviewers have commented the owner and staff are very welcoming, the hotel is small, cosy, relaxed and clean. There is a spotless kitchen where guests are free to store food and to help themselves to tea, coffee, soft drinks and beer. What a nice touch! In addition the Het offers a good sized car park.

Although there is very little of attraction the immediate area, central Breda is an easy 15-20 minute walk and there is a good supermarket, bakers and other shops serving a housing estate only five minutes walk away.

This hotel is very reasonably priced and I will happily stay here again if I need a hotel in the area.

I really liked this place. Everything worked as advertised.
Very friendly welcome, smiles all around, comfortable bed in bright room, functional bathroom with good shower.
Free beer and soft drinks in kitchen, Internet very fast - wifi worked fine everywhere and ethernet cable, as well.
I did not eat breakfast, although selection looked good.
A nice change from chain hotels I all too often stay in.

Room Tip: stayed in room ground floor room toward front - virtual no road noise due to great insulation, some...

This was an unusual stay; I came in late and had forgotten to phone ahead.. had someone who was visiting me from breakfast so was offered packed breakfast for both at the price of one... turned out to be sick all day anyway, and when i finally recovered (and got late checkout) helped myself to the breakfast things in the fridge instead... The above could have been challenging to a small B&B, but the person I booked with and the owner took it all in their stride in a thoroughly pleasant way.... it seems both well-run and laid-back, and I loved the policy of the open coffee machine... the room was adequate and nicely furnished... all in all a very good option in Breda

Room Tip: I was sleeping alone but I wouldn't have fancied the two-twins-together thing if sleeping as a a...

I have stayed here few times during my business trips. Each stay was about 5 days. I can highly reccomend this place. It is small, cosy, stuff is very helpfull, breakfast is really a choose of everything. There is a parking. Rooms are cosy and warm. They have bicycles which you can take and just go around the neiborhood. I higly reccomend this place.

I don't know why, but finding a good hotel in the Oosterhout/Breda region has always been a problem. Not anymore since we found this Scheepshuys.
The location is perfect: away from the old Breda, but within walking distance, yet easy to reach by car and a hotel parking is available for free..
The nonsmoking rooms are in a beautiful old and elegant master house which has been skillfully converted to a hotel. For instance each of the rooms has been equipped with an excellent ensuite bathroom. Room 8 on the 1st floor has a nice terrace, handy for a smoker. Free wifi is fast. The bf is satisfactory. Finally, the hotel business is conducted by an very helpful off-site Lady.

The story behind this carefully restored house located a fifteen minute walk from the centre of Breda is fascinating and the owners should be very pleased with what they have created. From the personal welcome to the guest kitchen, to the lovely eating room and garden with bicycles through the unique, spacious and comfortable rooms this is a very special place. And the value is outstanding.

There is a grocery store close by and many bicycle routes to other parts of Breda. The NHTV technical university is within a short walk. Definitely making a return booking - perhaps as early as today!
