“Home away from home”
Reviewed 11 November 2012

Every time my husband travels for work to the Netherlands, he stays in the Art Hotel. I'm been there myself many times in the meantime as well.
It is a very beautiful, comfortable hotel with spacious rooms that are all different inside. Decorated with wallpaper and fabrics that are stunning in every way, in different colour schemes.

What this hotel makes different from others is their staff. From the moment we sent in a reservation request till check-out we feel welcome and that really makes a good hotel in my opinion. The staff at the front desk greets you with your name when you pass them, and for my husband they serve "karnemelk" from the moment he arrives. I'm going to join him again next week and really looking forward to that!

The decor in the hotel is something to be experienced. It has a good location within the city, only a few minutes walking from the main station. The bar and resturant is very good, staff friendly and helpful and the food is fresh and tasty.
I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: The back of the hotel is quieter

I arrived late with colleagues on a business trip and had to queue for a while at reception. It was mid February and minus four centigrade outside, so I was surprised the vestibule at the lift lobby was completely unheated.

The room however was fantastically large with a stunning view overlooking the city. The mini bar was well stocked and the local television adequate. We dined nearby on the first night and in various other locations during the trip. The hotel breakfast was however very fine, and Dutch! A generous spread of delicious favorites plus coffee, tea, juice and even smoothies.

For its heritage (located inside Philip's original factory) and location, this hotel is superb.

Eindhoven has converted the redundant Phillips factories into some interesting spaces-artists workshops, restaurants and hotels.Convieniently located and just a short drive from the airport, Best Western's Art hotel is a combination of modern facilities housed in an industrial building with a somewhat "confused" and "busy" design aesthetic! Lotus-like pods serve as reception desks! My room was a very very dark purple space-walls and carpets ,with extremely dim lighting! Found this very depressing! The beds were large and comfy, bathrooms with shower and bath, good size.
Breakfast is served in an open restaurant area adjacent to reception, hot and cold european buffet. An adjoining bar with separate seating seemed busy in the evenings.
Service is good and relatively friendly!

Room Tip: Ask for rooms that have a "light" colour theme!

Surprisingly impressive - authentic industrial building (old Philips factory) could provide modern design, space and luxury. Fully enjoyed my stay in this hotel where each spacious room has different design and furnishings. Just go there, you won't regret it, it's an unique experience.

The hotel is in an old Phillips Electrical building right in the middle of Eindhoven. Eindhoven is Phillips town although not as much as previously, like a lot of companies apparently they have taken some manufacturing abroad, but there is still a lot of Phillips in the town. We travelled by train and on walking out of the station asked a friendly Dutchman where the hotel was. He looked puzzled as if we were messing him around and pointed and you could see it quite clearly! Lichttoren means light tower so it is prominent.

The hotel is very modern and spotlessly clean. As the name implies it is heavy on the art, particularly modern art and the inside is finished in a very modern style. The check in and out were very efficient and the staff well trained and polite and like a lot of Dutch people spoke very good English.

The room were clean and well appointed and also quiet. The curtains provided a complete blackout, which is very important if you travel a lot. A very nice shower room with a good range of shower gel etc and a fantastic shower. The restaurant was run by very enthusiastic kitchen and waiting staff and the kitchen is open plan. We ate both in and out, there are many restaurants and bars within a few minutes walk in the lively town centre. The breakfast was extremely comprehensive, a huge spread and not just continental. There is a bar in the entrance which serves an interesting array of drinks, not all of them familiar to the English.

A good stay in a professionally run hotel in a good town centre location.
