“Super cool place, very good food and friendly staff!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 June 2014

Recommended if you want to have a nice but easy going dinner in the center of Amsterdam, I loved this place! The location is in a rather busy part of the city but when we went there, inside it was very quite. The interior design is really cool, with a lot of stuff from the 60s and 70s, including the chairs and the tables. By the way: everything is for sale, you just need to ask for the price if not explicitly mentioned.
There is a seasonal menu, including (raw)vega and vegetarian option. Every menu costs between 10 and 15 euro and it is kind of fusion kitchen. I found it very particular and delicious! The cheese cake was also great. The staff is very nice and friendly, including their lovely black cat!

“coziest place in the city”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

When you enter, you think 'what is this?' and then it dawns on you that it is indeed a café, but a bit of a different one; pretty full of vintage stuff and every piece is different so your senses are quite stimulated.
Still they managed to keep the place cozy and the staff is real friendly. Love the appeltaart met slagroom of course and the coffees and teas.
A place you find yourself wandering into.. the very next day.

“Not great food, excellent coffee”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 April 2014

Checked this place out a few days ago, as I live next door.

I like the atmosphere a bit -- it is a bit crazy, weird in a good way. And coffee is pretty good as well. But they should not pretend that they know how to cook food!

The food is really ridiculous. Underseasoned, sticky, virtually uneatable rice. Tiny portion of very dry falafel. And decent but uninteresting kebab. Then some type of beetroot grilled. What is this? It does not even come together in a reasonable way. You can call it fusion, but this is mess to me.

All this come with a pretense of being super bio / organic (why would I care?). And then no alcohol, which also seems super weird for a place offering a dinner in the central Amsterdam. If I would want falafel and nice vegetables with no alcohol in Amsterdam, I would certainly go to Amsterdam East with plenty of great cheap places.

Overall: have their coffee! But avoid their dinner. They are much better options.
