“great location and service”
Reviewed 15 April 2010

location was excellent ... a short walk from central train station ... walking distance to all major sites

owner was very helpful with advance ticket bookings which avoided line ups ... also very quick to respond with information prior to booking

a real amsterdam experience!

Spent three nights in the 'blue' room at the Blue Sheep over Easter with my sister. What a treat. The room was delightful, our hosts (a gorgeous Dutch/Italian couple) and their beautiful daughter were friendly, warm and inviting. The two jack russels curled up on cushions in the corner of the kitchen, freshly squeezed orange juice in the morning, gorgeous fittings and fixtures - we couldn't have asked for a more comfortable and welcoming base. Five minutes from the station, the red light district, Anne Frank's house - but in a quiet side street flanked by canals on either side. A Saturday morning fresh food market over the bridge, great dutch restaurants and a delicious breakfast each morning. We both couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in Amsterdam than the Blue Sheep!

We had a wonderful stay at the Blue Sheep. Jan, Novella and Vicky Lou could not have been more welcoming, and Spot and Vito are an added welcome bonus for dog lovers! We had a lovely clean room, fantastic breakfasts and Novella provided us loads of helpful information on the area. The house is beautiful, and perfectly situated to walk to all the great shops and attractions in the centre of town. We intend to stay here again next time we visit this beautiful city.

We've been staying at the Blue Sheep for 2 nights.
As soon as we arrived, we've been greeted so friendly that we felt at home.
Warm atmosphere, very charming typical house both full of history and up-to-date decorated. Quiet, clean, wonderful breakfast. A very good value for money and great central location to visit the city.

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at the Blue Sheep hotel. We booked apartment number 3 that sleeps three very comfortably. We travelled with our six year old daughter and therefore knew we wouldn't be out while late on an evening. We were able to shop at the local supermarkets and the apartments kitchen had everything we needed in which to cook our breakfasts and evening meals. We found eating out to be very expensive and the apartment helped us to manage our budget and have extra money to spend on sightseeing. The lady that owned the hotel and apartment was lovely and although we didnt need any help during our stay i am sure that nothing would have been too much trouble. Our accomodation helped to give us a real authentic taste of Amsterdam family life due to the location and wonderful attention that had been given to accomodation. Steps were steep to the room but it was well worth it! Thank you Blue Sheep for a lovely holiday. x

The Blue Sheep is a wonderful little B&B in the heart of Amsterdam. The location is phenomenal [Jordaan district - a neighborhood full of great places to shop, eat and drink], and our hosts, Novella, Jan Willem, Nicky, Spot & Vito Corleone couldn't be any sweeter. They are a LOVELY bunch of people, with a ripe knowledge of the city and its many attractions. I can't gush enough about this place! We will indeed be back!

My husband and I started off our honeymoon in Amsterdam and we couldn't have stayed at a better place. First off, Novella upgraded us to the family suite as her gift to us for our stay. She was very warm and welcoming and made us feel right at home.
The suite was large with a great kitchen and bathroom. The views are absolutely beautiful and you are on a quiet street where no cars can go through.
Breakfast was delicious. Everything was so fresh and it was definitely the best breakfast we ate during our 2 weeks of travel throughout Europe. The help is very friendly as will offer great advice about what to go see and do.
Amsterdam is an amazing, lively, beautiful city. My husband and I fell in love with it and plan on going back someday and we would not even think of staying anywhere else but The Blue Sheep.
