“A true mini-holiday to South Africa... in Amsterdam”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

We loved it!
The service and welcome was impeccable, friendly and courteous and the waiter was more than helpful in guiding us throught he different options.
The restaurant is extremely cosy and it felt like we were eating in someones large living room rather than in a restaurant. even the smell of the place reminded us of the holidays!
The portions are generous yet not enough for you to leave have of it standing and the prices are decent, definitely when considering the quality of the food you're getting. We met the chef on the way out who turned out to be as pleasant a chap as the waiter. We will definitely be coming back!

“Amazing food!”
Reviewed 30 June 2014 via mobile

It was our first time in a south african restsurant and we really enjoy it. The restaurant is quite ( i hope it stay like this), the food is incredible. The butterfish so so good. The wine was also very good. The service was very good. I will repeat for sure. You have to try the amarulla or other nice shot at the end...

“Tasty and nicely spiced”
Reviewed 12 May 2014

Fancied something a bit different, and as we had never been to a South African restaurant before and this place was near our hotel, thought we would give it a try. Friendly welcome by the waiter who introduced us to the chef as we passed the kitchen. Cosy dining area with some tunes playing that I haven't heard in years ! We both chose different curries that were moderately spicy and certainly a bit unusual, after samosa type starters. The is also a lot of African meat on the menu, like Springbok and Kudu, if that takes your fancy. My chosen desert was not available but the waiter suggested I tried the chilli chocolate cake - great recommendation, it was delicious.

“A little piece of South Africa in Amsterdam”
Reviewed 2 March 2014

I went there last night with two friends who've been to South Africa in 2008. It was difficult to choose between all the delicious dishes, so we chose two mixed grill's and a bobotie. For a starter, it was suggested to take the starter platter which had small pieces of most of the starters. Good decision! Samoosas, spring rolls, fish balls. The mixed grill had springbok with a port-fig sauce, the kudu was with chakalaka, the spareribs with a sticky basting. There was also boerewors, onion rings, some veggies and potato wedges. The meat was superb! Soft and juicy. The spareribs fell of the bone.... I had a bite of the bobotie as well and it was yummy! Dessert was a treat. we ordered tipsy tart, chilly chocolate cake and melktert. The whole meal was accompanied by two bottles of Shiraz. A great evening in a friendly atmosphere. Can't wait for summer to go to the braai!
