My husband and I visited Amsterdam in the spring of 2011 and stayed at Tulipa. Everything about this B&B is perfect. Location, breakfast, room, hospitality you name it. We will def come back and stay at Tulipa next time in Holland.

Stayed for 2 nights in the canal view room with balcony. Warmly welcomed by Paula and provided with maps and a chat about our plans. She was certainly happy to provide recommendations and advice. Room tastefully decorated in a chic slightly retro, and elegantly styled room. Bed and linens very comfortable...slept very well. Enjoyed our complimentary drinks on the balcony too. Breakfast was the best we've had in a B&B - high quality ingredients with plenty of fresh produce. Different cooked option each day (one day was lovely eggs with veggies, one day banana pancakes!). Each day we also had tea/coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit, yogurt, delicious toast, cheese, ham and cereal!! :) Only minor tweaks would be to have milk in the rooms and that the bathroom door blind is a bit thicker...so we can't see our spouse on the loo! :) Very well located and would both recommend and stay again. Thank you!

We stayed in the canal view room which had its own entrance and two floors. The space was enormous with a comfortable dining and sitting area and large comfortable bed. The balcony was lovely; it was great to sit out at night and watch the boats go past. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful and healthy, which made a great start to the day. We didn't realise just how big Amsterdam was, we walked for miles exploring every direction but it's well worth it and Tulipa makes for a good location to get to most places by walking. I can't imagine a better B&B, it was great value for money and we'd definitely stay again if we returned to Amsterdam.

Room Tip: Canal view room on the first floor

We stayed 4 nights in this wonderful B&B that Paula, Jan & Hetty highlight
with their smile and kindness. Breakfast were marvellous, and the Canal
view room really huge and classy. But watch your step in the stairs, you
really do not want to fall in these. Joking apart you need your full body
condition to climb up there but it worth it !

Location is pretty good, all Amsterdam center can be reach by a litle walk
(or tram/bike if you prefer). Really a great place to stay to visit this
beautiful city

We stayed in two places while in Amsterdam, and this one was much more centrally located--we could walk everywhere! The owners are a British/Dutch couple and complement each other perfectly. Very genial hosts and full of advice of what to do/where to go. She even recommended a local brewery I wouldn't have found otherwise. Our kids loved the two-story room and DVD library and both breakfasts we had were excellent!

The hospitality of the B&B owners was amazing. The accommodation itself was not quite matched to their approach. As a five star traveler, I would rate this as around 3 - 3.5 star accommodation - good location (close to the tram line and station), fantastic hospitality, value for money OK and quality of the rooms, average. The personable approach of the couple that owned the house far outweighed any average experience in the B&B but Ithe ultimate question is, "Would I stay there again?" - unlikely... I believe in superior quality of service (which we got) but coupled with quality living and accommodation.

Room Tip: We stayed in the two level room with the spiral stair case on the ground floor. From what I can see...

I had the opportunity to spend 3 wonderful nights at the Tulipa B&B in Amsterdam. This is probably the best B&B I have ever stayed at. I wanted to stay in a traditional canal house on a beautiful canal and this what this B&B is. My family and I rented out all 3 rooms. Our host, Jan, was terrific. He doesn't live in the building but came by the house often. He was very fun just to chat with. He gave us restaurant recommendations and helped me figure out the metro system to get to our boat rental place. The breakfasts prepared each morning were absolutely delicious. The fresh fruit and bread was amazing, and he always prepared a "main course" like banana pancakes or salmon and eggs. Everything was delicious. His daughter was also very good and served us our breakfasts each morning. Jan also provided us beer , wine, and bottled water upon our arrival. Jan allows children and he put out roll away beds for the 3 children in our group. The location was outstanding! The street itself is fairly quiet, but it's only a few blocks from a great area of bars and restaurants. Tram stop is super close as well. Really, everything was so great!

Room Tip: The canal room is great if you want to sit on the balcony and have your wine. The 2 story suite is...
