“Nice park to take a break in”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

A fun place to take pictures and let the kids climb on the big I Amsterdam sign, then blow off the rest of their steam on the swings and jungle gym type things that are big enough for the teens to climb and swing on and enjoy too. There are smaller ones for smaller children too. Great lawn to have a picnic from the grocery store at the far end and just have a rest.

“The museums are great, the square is to be seen once”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

Museumplein is a place full of youngsters and tourists in Amsterdam. Local youngsters love to hang out there during the day and specially at night, more yet during events like the Koningsdag (The King's Day/ previously, the Queen's day).

Tourists come there mainly for two reasons: 1) it has one of the the symbols "I Amsterdam" spread in some points of the city. This one is the easier to visit from Amsterdam centrum; 2) Like the name says, it is the area which concentrate 3 major museums: Rijksmuseum(the most valued Dutch museum), Van Gogh Museum (the best and most complete museum from the famous Dutch artist) and Stedelijk Museum (The main modern art Dutch museum). Those museums are of cours worth a visit. As for the square, it's a place to see once. Nice grass, with the view of the Rijksmuseum in the background. A couple of pictures in the "I Amsterdam" and it's done.

“Very relaxing”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

Similar to Vondelpark, but smaller. Lots of lovely restaurants and stalls surrounding the park and a great supermarket too and of course surrounded by museums and lots of culture. Beautiful place to hang out.

“Great area to stay in.”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

Museumplein is a fantastic area to stay in during your trip to Amsterdam. Its got all the main museums nearby, as well as shops and cafes around and the beautiful Vondelpark. Also, it's only a 30-40 minute walk into the centre, crossing over the lovely canals and passing quaint shops and cafes. Tram and bus stops are also all around.

I would recommend Vondelpark and you must visit the Rijksmuseum for the 'I amsterdam' sign outside!

“Lovely open space”
Reviewed 2 August 2014 via mobile

Stopped by this plaza en route from the Van Gogh Museum to the Rijksmuseum. Great to see so many people enjoying the amenities. Recommend a drink or bite to eat in Cobra, overlooking the water feature. There was some great breakdancing and body popping from a group of guys going on the day we visited.
