“DO NOT use this place.”
Reviewed 30 May 2013

I can't believe the good reviews this place has gotten. Maybe we hit them on a bad day. We got there just on time, around 9:30, and the manager was about to leave. He stayed to rent us our bikes, but answered every question very curtly, had NO maps, and failed to check before he ran out as to whether our bikes worked. And they did not. My seat was way too high. Once we figured out how to adjust it, I then discovered that the brakes were very, very stiff, and that I could not reliably ride the bike. The guy had left, and although there was a note with a number where he could be reached, that number was not working. We went to the parking attendant and up to the hotel, and no one knew how to reach him. Another couple showed up to rent bikes, and they also had to wait. Finally after about 30 minutes, the guy returned. He didn't even apologize---just said he had to go help another customer. He did finally find a bike that worked for me, and so we left for the day. When we returned at 4:15, no one was there again to take the bikes back. We locked them up and left.

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. There are tons of places to rent bikes all over the city. I am sure their bikes are better and their service has to be better.

Our bikes seats have a handle where you can easily adjust it to your height. I am very sorry that I was on a hurry that day as I had to help a group of bikers and came back as fast as I could. The hand brakes can be found stiff to some people because they are very tight so that they brake immediately.

“Amsterbike”
Reviewed 29 October 2012

If you plan to visit Amsterdam by Cruise Ship then Amsterbike should be the first place you go to on your tour of the City. Amsterbike is located right outside where most Cruise ships dock so you will be on your way within minutes of landing. Its far less expensive to see Amsterdam by bike than on a tour organised by your cruise company. You will see 10 times as much than on foot but still at your own pace! Prior to arriving we reserved our bikes on line and they were ready for us as soon as we docked. We had a fantastic day in Amsterdam, seeing most of the city and its sights. Service from Amsterbike was friendly and efficient so we wasted none of our valuable one day in Amsterdam. Prices are very reasonable. We could rent 3 bikes for less than the cost of one person doing a half day tour organied by the cruise company. No contest as we could see whatever we liked, stop whenever we liked, for as long as we liked. Our guide books pointed out, the best way to see Amsterdam is by bike and they were right!
If you come by train into the city, Amsterbike is still easy and convenient to get to from the Central Station.
Top location, Top company! I would certainly use them again.

“what a great company!”
Reviewed 27 August 2012

Found this company on the internet. They were located within walking distance of the main train station and attached to the cruise docks. We should have booked our e-bikes online for they had only one left when we arrived. The ebike is getting very popular around Europe so it is always best to reserve them in advance. I''d rent from this staff again for they were super friendly.

“e-scooter tour”
Reviewed 4 August 2012

i booked a e-scooter tour with amsterbikes this week. Great deal of fun and very enjoyable. Liked the bike so much i rented it for the afternoon. They are easy to ride and i had no hesitation on taking my 12 year old daughter on the back. You see more of amsterdam this way and less tiring than cycling.
Well recommended (and i'm a glass half empty person) thanks amsterbikes.....

“"A must" for an ideal visit to Amsterdam”
Reviewed 26 July 2012

My friend and I wanted to explore the Dutch countryside just north of Amsterdam by booking a tour. We are so lucky that the tour we wanted was unavailable that day, because we ended up seeing soo much more on our Amsterbike rentals for less than half the price. The employees were friendly and patient, showing us all the places we ought to visit, demonstrating how to lock our bikes properly, and answering all our questions. We enjoyed our bikes for 24 hours -- plenty of time to spend a day in the villages as well as ride around the canals -- for just 15 Euros per bike!

Dear Natasha,
Nice to hear that you really enjoyed the trip to the country side, just on your own! As we informed you this trip just outside Amsterdam is really worth it.
Also good your muscles made it to bike along the canals, so you had the possibility to really experience Amsterdam.
You are most welcome to visit our store another time to do a tour to the windmills at Zaanse Schans, or a tour along the Eastern Harbour Area f.i.
Best regards,
Radboud Klaphake
