“Amsterdam Gem!”
Reviewed 20 October 2011

Just back from a 4 night stay in this lovely hotel off the Leidse Plein. Great central location means it's easy to walk everywhere, but trams stop just around the corner. The 197 bus from Schiphol saves on the taxi fare too! We - a family of two adults and 16 year old- stayed in a 3 person room with twin beds and a comfortable fold down sofa bed. The room was spacious and clean, and the ensuite, although very compact, was fine for our needs with shampoos and shower gels provided. The owner Natalie has a warm and humorous personality and thrives on multi-tasking- she can make apple pancakes, eggs and bacon, set tables, answer the phone and still manage to chat to her guests all at the same time! Breakfasts are highly recommended, great value, and set us up for days of exploring the city by foot and bike. We loved our stay here.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Boutique Hotel View, which manages to be centrally located but still removed from Amsterdam's tourist hoardes. We had the Princess Room, with a small balcony overlooking the canal. Owner Nathalie did everything she could to make us comfortable, including carrying our luggage up three flights of stairs and whipping up great homemade pancakes in the morning. Recommended.

The Boutique Hotel View is a fantastic place to stay in Amsterdam. Natalie, the manager, is very friendly, makes the best pancakes and omelettes and is always ready to help if needed. Also her staff is kind, competent and the atmosphere in the hotel is agreable and familiar. The rooms are very clean, convenient and - although it's in the heart of the city - silent. We can just recommend the hotel to anyone and see no negative points.

My wife and I just got back from 3 weeks in Europe and we couldn't have picked a better hotel to end our trip. Natalie is a tremendous owner/host and could not have been more helpful. From making a great breakfast; to securing our cab; to making me some tea when I was feeling a little under the weather....it all came with a sincere smile and a reminder to feel free to call her if we needed anything else. The room we had was very spacious and newly renovated (we had a great canal view). The hotel is extremely well located to the Leidesplein as well as the major museums. We have traveled extensively throughout Europe and guarantee you will be delighted with this hotel.

Room Tip: Breeze from canal can be very nice on warm evenings.

This hotel is a lovely little hotel in a great location. We expected to have to get the tram alot but we didn't use it once and saved so much money being able to walk everywhere!
We booked a small double room which I have read a lot of reviews saying their too small but I disagree, it was really cosy and fine for a few days stay!
The breakfast is extra but is nice and you can pretty much have anything you like. We tend to only eat cereal for breakfast so Nathalie only charged us for one day which was very kind!
Would definitely stay here again and recommend!

Room Tip: The large doubles are massive if you really want a big room thurs not much more!

My wife and I just got back from a 3 week European trip that ended up in Amsterdam for the last 3 days. This hotel was a great find. Natalie was a great host, helping us with anything we needed and making a great breakfast each morning. The rooms are clean and kept up well. the location is excellent, right down from the main square where all the cafes and bars can be found, as well as the short distance to the museums and other sites. My wife and I highly recommend this hotel and we will return there on our next trip.
