My wife and I dined at the Oud Holland on our last night in Amsterdam. We stumbled upon the restaurant while walking towards Lucius, which we discovered was a longer walk than we'd thought. Our fellow diners are mostly families and couples, some of them tourists, like us. We ordered the Fried Mussels and Fried Sole Fish which was a generous portion along with potatoes, carrots and salad. The mussels and sole fish were home cooked and very delicious. Like the name suggests, this restaurant offers a traditional Dutch fare and definitely worth a visit if you are looking for an authentic experience.

This restaurant was recommended in our "Holland Pass" brochure as one of the oldest in Amsterdam and well known for home style cooking and typical Dutch dishes. Decided to visit as it was in the same street as our hotel and we had a 10% discount with our pass.
Well we waited 50 minutes for a cold starter - there was an apology that a member of staff was off ill. Before we finished the starter the plate was whisked away and the main course served. The veal dish was expertly cooked as was the chicken dish but both were on the cool side. It was also very cold in this venue which made the wait even more uncomfortable. In addition they didn't have orange juice - offered apple juice or iced tea!!
Disappointed that we did not experience true Dutch dining and would therefore not recommend a visit to Oud Holland.

Very good quality food, nothing super especial to be honest, but I guess thats just how Dutch cuisine is. A bit overpriced and wifi didn't work, good location, and near a tram stop.

The atmospheric and service were very good. The food was good, but not exceptional. Everything is pan fried in butter, but I thing that is traditional Dutch.

I suppose we should have realised when we were the only people having lunch ! but at least the service was personal and prompt. The food was at best mediocre and at worst edible, though it was more thrown together by a bloke in a kitchen than prepared by a chef. There are hundreds of good restaurants in Amsterdam, but this isn't one of them.
