I said in the heading that it is more like a very nice hostel than a hotel, because it is very clean, nice bathrooms, they have Wi-Fi, and provide toiletries and towels and there is a TV with English channels!!
These are all very nice things but the rooms were crazy small, some people have said in their reviews here that there room was big, but to give a description of what the room sizes are like they are literally so small that you could not fit a king-size bed into the room, there was a small double and a little coffee table, and two stools. There should have been a mini-fridge to be honest. There was too of us staying in the room and we couldn't unpack our suitcases because there was nowhere to put anything and we couldn't even both have our suitcases open in the room at once.
The other issue we had, would be that they are in the middle of refurbishment, and they decided to paint the room next to ours ON A SUNDAY MORNING!! Which to no one's surprise did not help our hangovers.
I think this place would be really nice if it formally became an upmarket hostel, and add self catering facilities. It has no lift, so it feels like it should just embrace what it is good at, and that is providing tiny, but quality rooms with a great location at a budget price. It just seems considering it's target market, it should have a common area and self catering facilities, because the rooms are so small, it would be nice to have an area which is not so claustrophobic.
Having said all of this the staff were lovely, and helpful, considering I have a really strong accent they tried to help as much as possible with directions and recommending where to go.
The only thing that realistically would stop me from staying here again is the fact that there is no lift, as I have walking problems and so carrying luggage up and down the three flights of stairs was a bit stressful.
However, the experience was altogether a positive one and I think that the location was excellent for people looking to explore the city and have a chilled out time.
