“A very knowledgable and compassionate journey into a dark past”

Peter captivated us in spite of the cold with his breadth of knowledge and personable style and took us through the history of the WW II, particularly the plight of the Dutch Jewry.

“An amazing experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 December 2010

If you are interested to know about how the WWII affected the life in Amsterdam, you must call Peter and walk with him. I did that, and as I was alone, it was a great opportunity to be conducted through a lot of places where things happened and to understand how the Jewish life was so disturbed at that time. Peter is a great guy; he has not only a huge knowledge about the historic facts, but also a good vision of human being, and so I had an amazing morning that helped me not only to get back to some of the places we visit some days after, but specially to feel more integrated to the city. Thank you Peter, it was unforgettable.

“Great Tour, highly recommended!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 December 2010

Booked a tour with Peter on Dec 4th 2010, it was snowing heavily and the temperature was blustery to say the least. He was a great tour guide, was incredibly knowledgeable about the information of the resistance fighters and the occupation of Amsterdam by the Nazi's. Even though the weather was bad, he took his time showing us the sights and the historical areas without rushing to get out of the snow. We had a couple from Isreal on our tour that day, and Peter was able to go into more depth about the jewish struggles as the couple was vastly more familiar with the situatioon than we were. i feel that the tour is well worth the money and time, it gives you a different feel for such a great city and the struggles that it went through during 1940-1945. I really liked the pictures that he had to show then/now. And by the way Peter, i have told the story of the "ovaries", I mean "eye glasses" to my friends and they think I am a fool :) thanks so much Peter! great tour!

“Excellent, informative, experience. Highly recommended”

Michelle made this tour an excellent experience - despite the snow and cold! The walk is well paced and informative. She showed us historical photos of the streets we were standing in which really brought the past to life. I definitely recommend this tour.
