How and why did Holland become such an economic power? The clues are every where as we walked around the city. Peter illustrated through art and architecture the wealth generated by Holland's successful initiation of the first truly modern global economy. From the original purpose of buildings to the canals themselves, Peter connected Amsterdam's infrastructure to its location, key to its quick and early development as a sea based trader.
The world came to Amsterdam and Amsterdam prospered. Peter's depth of knowledge and love of his city's history is evident. He welcomes questions. We also took his World War II tour...also Excellent. A great compliment to the art at the Rijksmuseum.
