This is an amazing park. The first night we arrived in Amsterdam, we took a night-time stroll through Vondelpark, and felt very safe, even in the dark. There is a film museum, which we unfortunately did not have chance to visit, and tea houses/bars in the park.
We rented bicycles on one day of our holiday, and cycled for about an hour in this park alone - it's huge, beautiful, and there are sculptures all over to attract your gaze. We also noticed there is a BBQ area, that joggers and cyclists flock here to exercise, and the occasional smell of weed suggests a very relaxed atmosphere in general (much like the rest of this amazing city). It is an oasis of calm, not far from the hustle and bustle of life. Now easily one of my favourite spots in the world
