You get to experience the life and times of Van Gough through his art, the art of his contemporaries, and the excellent audio and written explanation of the various works.

“Huge Collection”
Reviewed 8 August 2014

This is a truly wonderful collection of his work in a contemporary setting. You walk through a winding bright white building not far from the other main museum.

“worth the wait?”
Reviewed 8 August 2014

We didn't book in advance but the hotel told us Monday would be ok! We queued for around 30 minutes which was ok. There is a good range of Van Gogh's paintings here, plus a couple of Monet's and other influential artists. I am not an art specialist, but I was disappointed with some of Van Gogh's painting, especially the lack of colour, but that was his early style. The well known paintings are worth the visit though and being able to see the brush work up close was again worth the visit. Maybe a bit pricey.

“A must see!”
Reviewed 8 August 2014

Amazing. We didn't allow enough time to see everything and felt that rushed towards the end. There was also a film about Van Gogh that was in an auditorium on the sub ground floor which was very good but a lot of people missed.

“Unbelievable display of the life work of Van Gogh”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

On a recent visit to Amsterdam we visited the Van Gogh Museum. What a fantastic display of the life and times of Van Gogh and his art works. Very well set out museum with interactive displays as well. Only thing is make sure you book online well before you go as the queue for people without prepaid tickets is ridiculous. Overall well worth the money to see this great artists works.
