Owner description: Visit the hiding place where Anne Frank wrote her diary during the Second World War. From 9 AM to 3:30 PM the museum is only open to visitors with an online ticket for a particular timeslot. Tickets are made available on the website two months in advance. The Anne Frank House is a small museum with limited capacity. The demand for tickets is far greater than the number available. If you are unable to buy an online ticket, you can always from 3:30 PM until closing time visit the museum and buy a ticket at the museum entrance.

“Make sure you book online!”

The first thing we noticed was that there was a HUGE queue for this museum which went around two corners. Luckily I had booked online so we were able to just walk on in, so i would definitely suggest doing that if you plan on visiting. The museum itself was very informative and interesting. A definite must see.

“Fantastic piece of history”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2014

Having studied the book of Anne Frank in school it was a very interesting experience to visit the setting of the Diary.
I was shocked how different the house was compared to my imagination of what it looked like and was glad that it had been maintained well. I am surprised how they hid such a 'large' annex from a building that seems to be in a street very central to Amsterdam life. A definite must visit if you stay in Amsterdam and are well aquainted with Anne Franks diary.

“A must see”

My daughter and I decided that during our trip to Amsterdam we would visit the Anne Frank House. We waited in line about 30 minutes..we went around 7:30pm..It was so sad, seeing her pictures, diary, and hearing her father speak about her. She was a remarkable girl, so mature at the age of 13..We learned so much and really recommend going if in Amsterdam..

“Must see in Amsterdam”

To have read her book is one thing but to actually have occupied the same space is something that was very moving and meaningful. This museum is very well done and respectful. You can move along at your own pace and information about the family's life and historical period is presented with a variety of media. It was especially heartbreaking to view the part of the exhibit about survivor Otto Frank, who was the only family member to return to the annex.

We were lucky to walk up on a short queue but I recommend purchasing tickets in advance. Photography is not allowed so as not to infringe upon the personal experiences of those around you. I found this advantageous as I was able to focus more intently on the artifacts and information.

Really touching. You'll come out speechless.
I enjoyed how everything is shown to reflect the real experience of the inhabitants of the house. There is no staging!
