Owner description: This charming neighborhood is Amsterdam's Greenwich Village, with its narrow alleys, leafy canals lined with 17th-century houses, quirky specialty shops, cafes and designer boutiques.

It was a pleasure to stroll around this part of Amsterdam--mostly quiet, residential, and very attractive.

Took a food tour through this area....it was incredible! It was the best food tour we experienced through northern Europe.

The best way for me was simply to walk around the streets. Beatiful views, amazing houses with colourful walls that dosn't stand strait, There is a lot of history around them, Ideal for late afternoon photography. Also can be very useful to take a boat tour with audio explanations.

This is a review in general for a neighborhood, not any specific attraction. Compared to being near Dam Square which I found to be loud and crowded, The Jordaan is picturesque and quiet with a good selection of eclectic boutiques, cafes and restaurants. Would recommend a few hours in the area including De 9 Straatjes (The Nine Streets) shopping district and Anne Frank Huis if you were fortunate enough to get a ticket in advance.

A quaint number of house along a river with riverboats and small boutique stores along the way. You can visit here by foot....that's if you are okay with braving the cold.
